I went with a school group to a geological site on a beach in San Francisco. We were followed and menaced by an older man with his dick out. It's a shame that a few perverts ruined public nudity for the rest of the hippies, but they did. So this is what happens. |

It is very sad that we are all so bothered by naked people... people look much the same naked as clothed- just rather more vulnerable. Ok- in some places clothing is more appropriate.. but it is our attitude that bothers me... |

I cant explain it, its that ingrained Christian bent in most the western world thats to blame I suppose but I find public nudity icky. None the less id let it pass as I cant explain why I actually feel that way other than its been ingrained in me. Im sure if everyone was forced to be naked the poor self image that is rife would be quickly dispelled as everyone would realise that ass they dont like or the nose they dont want is just about the most normal thing going. Human bodies can differ so wildly it is quite astonishing |

Mad_Gremlyn - People live in a world without such nudity laws. Person A has a beautiful wife. Wife goes naked for whatever reason. Person B looks at wife. Person A creates law preventing nudity, thus perventing Person B from looking at wife in that way.

I will never understand why religion made the human body a crime. But, make no mistake, this is Christianity making the human body a shameful sight and a crime. Lets consider the reality of public nudity: Everyone has genitals. Sitting on a surface that another person has sat on could transmit disease and/or parasites. With those basic considerations, what is the real debate? Because the real debate was not had. No one should be penalized because some yahoo doesn't want to talk to their child about anatomy. And, we need to consider hygiene and the transmission of health threats in this conversation. Overall, to simply criminalize the human body is obviously ridiculous. So, what are logical reasons for legalizing or criminalizing nudity? If it's your religion, prepare to have your own book thrown at you. |
