@Cajun: Yes, Hamas wants civilian casualties! Jews, Arabs, ANYONE who dies makes them very happy! There have been many situations of their rockets 'falling short' and hitting Gaza, but that's OK with them. When a bomb making factory blew up & killed dozens of civilians? They just blmaed Israel! (It was in the basement of a civilian building, iirc)
Israel cannot allow thousands of rockets to rain on it's people, period!
Spending billions on "Iron Dome" is ALSO a bad idea since the Hamas rockets are cheap! ID anti-rockets probably cost 20X as much as the ones they're shooting down! Still, ID is better than nothing for the moral of the population. |

So if you don't know any better, is it OK to condemn Israel for taking THIS course of action?
Maybe civilian casualties were an inevitable result of Israel's response. That shouldn't have to be the case next time. With a couple of exceptions no one here is criticising Israel for responding, rather the question are they seriously going to let what Hamas does be an excuse for inflicting civilian casualties? Especially considering, obviously, that's EXACTLY what Hamas expects. Ultimately the choice between civilian casualties and no civilian casualties is a false one.
Inaction = Bad!
Action = Bad!
Really sums up the situation don't it? |

@McG and you don't consider what Israel is doing is terrorism? Killing mostly women and children and very few of the officially intended targets? Is it not terrorism just because they are using aeroplanes, drones and artillery? Or is it because they are an ally of the US?

Not true. Plenty of indigenous peoples living there. The Jews can continue to live in Palestine or migrate to the US and other countries that'll welcome them with open arms. They can come here for all I care. They just shouldn't be there. I sincerely regret my country's role in putting them there and apologise on behalf of our nation. |
