Thursday, November 15, 2012 12:03:26 PM I take a knock off version of this (cheaper but basically same ingredients). It's obvious you shouldn't take it if pregnant, it's caffeine after all. I want to know more about the deaths caused by it though. I wouldn't be surprised if they were from people with existing heart problems or were taking it with other substances that caused a negative effect. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 8:04:54 AM I used to drink 5 hr's, coffee, Monster Imports, and Redline Extreme's often... I have toned it down, but have never had any backlash from them. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 7:17:27 AM I haven't had 5-Hour Energy, but I tried other energy drinks. I don't like energy drinks, they up my blood pressure too much. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 7:04:05 AM They are in fact "highly caffeinated"!! They don't disclose content (which is f'd up in itself)but independent analysis found well over 200mg in 1 shot (double the amount in a cup of coffee). |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 5:04:40 AM They are not "highly caffeinated". In fact, they have hardly any caffeine in them at all. But they do have a drat load of vitamins B6 and B12. The types of people who die from these are people with heart conditions who drink three at a time. That kind of stupidity will make your heart explode. If you use responsibly, you're at no risk. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 4:54:27 AM I drink Monsters all the time, the can clearly says not more than two a day and not for pregnant women. I here about stupid people drinking cases of energy drinks in a day/night. It's no wonder some over dose on it, learn to read the instructions. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 4:36:08 AM Awesome, more regulation! That's just what we need. It's a stimulant; too much can kill you, especially if you have heart trouble. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 11:31:24 PM The 'dietary supplement' situation in the US is a joke. Lack of regulation means that you can buy 'St. John's Wort' tablets that are mostly NOT St. John's Wort, Echinacea pills that are loaded with heavy metals, or very pricey water with basically no ingredients at all (homeopathy). Meanwhile pharmaceutical companies undergo rigorous monitoring and still kill people. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 11:11:09 PM If I drink a tall coffee after noon it keeps me awake till 3 in the morning. I crash but still can't sleep. Caffeine by itself has never improved my performance. I drank the regular Redbull before one time trial and whoa yeah there was a big difference. Had another one before a long haul (4 hrs) and didn't feel as tired. So have had all of three cans so far. Think it's taurine not caffeine that made the difference. Am positively scared of these crazy power drinks. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 8:24:10 PM 13 people (possibly) over 4 years have killed themselves by consuming too much of this particular energy drink and you think it needs to be banned. so no hope for any alcohol or tobacco product eh? they kill probably that many people per day. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 6:25:31 PM I use them all the time. I was a total cynic / skeptic before ("just have coffee, same caffeine!"). I would mock the commercials and the premise - but I don't know, coffee eventually makes me feel like crap, these don't. They also don't make you have to pee like coffee, mostly because they simply don't have that much liquid in them. I use one before I play hockey every single time. I've played without them since using them, and there is a large difference. I don't know, but there IS something to them. It's not just the caffine. There is something about the mix of nutrients. And it's weird - I've heard the "they make me nervous" line before. Seriously? It's just concentrated caffine, niacin, and vitamin B. I understand just not wanting to take any, sure, fine. There's lots of crap I'll never bother to try. Just don't take 3 at once and you'll be fine. if you took 8 cups of coffee at once, you'd feel like crap too. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 6:15:50 PM I wonder how many deaths can be attributed to coffee, corn syrup, or the once illegal extreme carcinogen aspartame? Oh wait, we'll never know since the men who control those items sit on the board for the FDA. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 6:10:49 PM And as a side note to my previous comment, driving 3000 miles in two days makes you desperate enough to try anything. I found for whatever reason what kept me up best was loud music, and the small Starbucks double shots. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 6:01:26 PM How to make a classic four loko.. 1 can new four loko 1 5 hour energy To be consumed as a drop shot style beverage. (Don't try this at home, I will not be held accountable, there's a reason they stopped making them with caffeine.) That aside, woooooo four loko! |
