Wednesday, November 14, 2012 11:31:22 PM But upto about 20 lbs, just putting it on when it starts to brown should be fine. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 11:28:15 PM @ByOwlPost put the turkey in to roast, when it starts to brown slap the bacon over its rump, it'll work out fine. If you need to, take the bacon off towards the end. Signed, another vegitarian who cooks for meat eaters. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 4:11:26 PM Vegitarian, but I am cooking the turkey this year, a friend posted a copy of this pic on their Facebook, and my question to her was.. Wouldn't the bacon burn? Even with constant basting? I cook chicken, pork, and beef like a pro.. But the goddamn bacon always burns. >_< |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 4:11:19 PM That bird looks like it has been attended to by a bunch of first-aiders after an industrial accident. Definitely look better cooked! |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 10:10:43 AM IRockYeah: fat=flavor. It's one way of trying and having a juicy turkey. Although brining it first usually helps the most as well as not overcooking it. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 9:41:48 AM That bacon is all fat. You want bacon with some actual meat on it, you know, the pork. |

What happens if he doesn't do it? If not.. the vegetarian option in my house will be "Get out". ___ I do! I am a vegan but if I am having a dinner party or such, I will make meat options. On the flipside, my friends have went out of their way to find and make some great vegan options when I go to their house. It's about balance...and also, I guess because I wasn't ALWAYS a vegan. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 8:49:10 AM I normally put the bacon on part way through the cooking time so that it doesn't burn. |

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 8:20:01 AM Hey, catfish87: I say you're free to be a veggie, but don't expect me to buy and cook a "Tofurkey" or some abomination just because you're part of the crowd. I wouldn't buy into the feeling of obligation, but on the other hand, if invited to the veggie's place, I'd try the experience, and if I was jonesing for meat afterward (which I doubt), I could always have some later. Have you never had a vegetarian meal? |
