when we live in a country where people feel the need to carry a gun on their side out of FEAR then we as a country have failed terribly. |

In the UK, you'd be arrested for carrying a fake gun. And I think that is how it should be - this is just ridiculous |

Gerry, you ought to know that as it is, more people are killed each year thru home accidents with guns than are ever shot in self-defense. Allowing any idiot (more or less) to pack heat is just looking for trouble. This is not the rational action of a civilized country. |

As an ex criminal who spent my late teens and early 20's in a life of crime, I can tell you that if this were the norm back then, I wouldn't have so many victims. I would've thought twice about robbing someone who openly carries a weapon. Just sayin. |

If criminals knew there was a good chance they'd get shot in the act of the crime, they'd be less likely to do it. But as things are, they know you are unarmed and even if you have a gun in your house, you're not allowed to use it for defense except in very few circumstances.
