Monday, November 12, 2012 1:18:00 PM What do you call a solder that turns against the government that he pledged to protect. As a soldier, Marine, airmen, seamen, etc. you swear to protect the Constitution, not the government. You're question cannot be answered because you begin with a false premise. My turn. What do you call a person still bitter about supposed wrongs committed against him well before he was even born? I'll give you a hint: dm2754. |

Monday, November 12, 2012 1:13:45 PM What do you call a solder that turns against the government that he pledged to protect. That attacked a privet business because he was upset about taxes. A solder that paned to over throw the government and killed other solders from his own county . Is he a traitor or a patriot? Is he a freedom fighter or a terrorist? Am I talking about George Washington or Adolf Hitler

Monday, November 12, 2012 1:08:37 PM 1) Join in before we start winning and before your inaction bites you on the arse as it did at Pearl Harbour. You just aknowledged you knew of lend lease so that's not helping? Seeing as we were getting out of the depression that's about all we had. 2) Stop invading tiny, defenceless countries, torturing and murdering their civilian populations, and deluding yourself that has anything to do with either bravery or freedom. LOL said someone from the UK you should really take a beter look at your history. They're all too busy invading piddly little countries, and getting bogged down in 20-year travesties like Vietnam We didn't enter heavily until 1965 before then it was France f**king things up per usual pehaps you should khunt up some French threads. |

Monday, November 12, 2012 1:02:35 PM Join in before we start winning and before your inaction bites you on the arse as it did at Pearl Harbour. You were far from "winning" when the US (and Russia) joined the war. Let's not kid ourselves here. Stop invading tiny, defenceless countries, torturing and murdering their civilian populations, and deluding yourself that has anything to do with either bravery or freedom. Guilty - most Americans (veterans and active duty included) feel the same way. Last time I checked, Scotland still had forces invested in Afghanistan. Perhaps you should take your own advice? |

Monday, November 12, 2012 12:57:27 PM And the sonic MacThunderKhunt queef boom reports again! Pissed ya couldn't cut it twice then had to have you asses bailed out another two times? Hey, we were grateful for your help in WWI and WWII. So grateful in fact that we only just got done repaying you with interest this past decade for the financial help you 'gave' us. When it comes to being our 'trusted' allies, though, we just wish you'd: 1) Join in before we start winning and before your inaction bites you on the arse as it did at Pearl Harbour. 2) Stop invading tiny, defenceless countries, torturing and murdering their civilian populations, and deluding yourself that has anything to do with either bravery or freedom. If you ever do get invaded and need would-be veterans to do their actual day job of *defending* your country, you're going to be out of luck. They're all too busy invading piddly little countries, and getting bogged down in 20-year travesties like Vietnam.

Monday, November 12, 2012 12:28:47 PM Thank you, Veterans, for getting soundly beaten by a rag tag bunch of five foot Asians in black pyjamas: your generation of little-country-invading 'warriors' showed the rest of the world that it *is* possible to beat a bully at his own game. |

Monday, November 12, 2012 9:43:53 AM @tedgp Actually, that entire statement is completely wrong. A quick dictionary search brings up this: Origin of VETERAN Latin veteranus, from veteranus, adjective, old, of long experience First Known Use: 1509 |

Monday, November 12, 2012 9:16:39 AM "The word veteran has been taken WAY out of context. It was meant to apply to the world war soldiers." Ted, what's your source on that? The word veteran was in use way before the first world war. Indeed , a quick search on google shows that the first usage of the word was around 1500 and was used to mean an experienced soldier. |

Monday, November 12, 2012 8:56:47 AM The word veteran has been taken WAY out of context. It was meant to apply to the world war soldiers. However, blind patriotism and government speeches seem to have moved it to any soldier which lends the word and indeed the holiday itself less credibility. |
