What do you call a solder that turns against the government that he pledged to protect.
As a soldier, Marine, airmen, seamen, etc. you swear to protect the Constitution, not the government. You're question cannot be answered because you begin with a false premise.
My turn. What do you call a person still bitter about supposed wrongs committed against him well before he was even born? I'll give you a hint: dm2754. |

What do you call a solder that turns against the government that he pledged to protect.
That attacked a privet business because he was upset about taxes. A solder that paned to over throw the government and killed other solders from his own county .
Is he a traitor or a patriot? Is he a freedom fighter or a terrorist?
Am I talking about George Washington or Adolf Hitler

They're all too busy invading piddly little countries, and getting bogged down in 20-year travesties like Vietnam

You were far from "winning" when the US (and Russia) joined the war. Let's not kid ourselves here.

Guilty - most Americans (veterans and active duty included) feel the same way. Last time I checked, Scotland still had forces invested in Afghanistan. Perhaps you should take your own advice? |

Hey, we were grateful for your help in WWI and WWII. So grateful in fact that we only just got done repaying you with interest this past decade for the financial help you 'gave' us. When it comes to being our 'trusted' allies, though, we just wish you'd:

If you ever do get invaded and need would-be veterans to do their actual day job of *defending* your country, you're going to be out of luck. They're all too busy invading piddly little countries, and getting bogged down in 20-year travesties like Vietnam.

Ted, what's your source on that? The word veteran was in use way before the first world war. Indeed , a quick search on google shows that the first usage of the word was around 1500 and was used to mean an experienced soldier. |

The word veteran has been taken WAY out of context. It was meant to apply to the world war soldiers. However, blind patriotism and government speeches seem to have moved it to any soldier which lends the word and indeed the holiday itself less credibility. |
