"Greater Cats" (lions, tigers, leopards & jaguars) don't "purrr" exactly, but make other noises which seem to serve the same purpose.

That dog could be an afternoon snack in a couple of months.
Pinky, tigers do not purr. The big cats (tigers, lions, leopards and jaguars) have a different larynx and can roar but cannot purr, whereas all other cats can purr but not roar. That's actually the distinction between the four members of the Big Cat group, and other cats. Even though cougars, cheetahs and snow leopards are large, they are not part of the big cat family. THey can putt but not roar. |

OK I love big cats, but keeping one as a pet in a residence is an idiotic move. That tiger will grow up and eat everyone in that house if it can. |
