@McThstlpnts - I have to agree with you. I'm a New Yorker through & through but I spent some time in the south. I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and I lived in Austin, TX for two years after I got out of the Marine Corps. I met quite a few southerners, obviously, but I noticed that while in many cases the redneck stereotype is very accurate, a lot of folks down there are good people. They're not all the racist hillbillies people everywhere else think they are. |

You guys have seriously got to fuq off about your racial quandaries. Michigan, right up there by Canada, was barely for Obama. Same thing with Wisconsin, Ohio, and New Hampshire. Indiana wasn't even for Obama. Oregon was also pretty close.
And what about West Virginia? They separated from Virginia specifically to be against slavery. I feel like that would take everything away from your logic.

I have to say...it is really embarrassing to live in the South...wish I could afford to move away honestly. But please be fair...not all those who live in the south are "knuckle draggers" and "morally retarded". If you look at the percentages per red state you will see that some (like TN) were neck and neck between Obama and Romney. Many are evolving down here!! |

Don't really think political affiliations can be contrasted back in time to modern times. Ghandi was a racist by todays standards wanting to keep the black caste below him. Also not helpful in political debate to just come out and call someone a racist on such loose reasoning, if you want people to ignore you go for it. Want to be able to change someones opinion then don't. |
