Saturday, November 10, 2012 6:29:52 PM It seems like these maps are implying that if you live in an area with a very high population of black people you are more likely to vote republican. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 6:27:33 PM CrakrJak "Slander and Calumny Sir!" Dude did you even read my comment? I said not all Republicans are racists. However there are lots of racists still in America and they certainly vote Republican. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 6:22:41 PM HG: The republican party is now the party of bigots, racists, neo-nazis, and the KKK. Slander and Calumny Sir! Republicans want people to be judged on the content of their character, not their race. It's the democrats that still hold onto the belief that minorities need to be mollycoddled and catered too. That's the REAL racism, the racism of low expectations and lower standards. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 4:34:19 PM indiechad "So what was the point of this useless graphic again?" It is for people who understand history. Yes back then they were in Democrats control. Democrats used to be the party of racism and bigotry. The KKK used to be mostly democrats. Hell, Lincoln was a Republican. That has all changed in the past 40 years though. The republican party is now the party of bigots, racists, neo-nazis, and the KKK. I am NOT saying all republicans are racists. I am saying all racists are republicans. |

DuckBoy87, "If it weren't for those highly condensed urban areas, PA and OH would have gone to Romney." You mean, "If it weren't for the majority of the population. . . " Yeah, I can see were people voting for Obama can mess up Romney's plans. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 3:17:30 PM @indiechad: Again, read the 20th century history of the political parties for the answer. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:46:27 PM I wonder who was governor of some of those southern states in 1950? Alabama: James E. Folsom, a Democrat. Mississippi: Fielding L. Wright, a Democrat. Arkansas: Sid McMath, a Democrat. Florida: Fuller Warren, a Democrat. Georgia: Herman Talmadge, a Democrat. Oklahoma: Roy Joseph Turner, a Democrat. Tennessee: Gordon Browning, a Democrat. Texas: yes, even Texas, Allan Shivers, a Democrat. So what was the point of this useless graphic again? |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:37:32 PM Yeah, I understand that Fools, my point was really that if you travel the majority of PA, you're bound to be in the red territories. To illustrate my point, PA's 12th congressional seat has been held by a Democrat for at least 36 years (held by John Murtha and then Mark Critz) was lost to a Republican (Keith Rothfus). |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:20:19 PM 'If it weren't for those highly condensed urban areas, PA and OH would have gone to Romney' It's not out of the ordinary for that to happen in a lot of states. Rural voters tend to vote Republican, but the population in those rural counties is smaller than in the condensed urban areas, which vote Democrat. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:10:51 PM Has anyone actually seen a map of Pennsylvania and Ohio, county by county? In PA, at least, the entire state was RED, sans the Pittsburgh area and the Filthy-delphia areas. If it weren't for those highly condensed urban areas, PA and OH would have gone to Romney. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:06:00 PM Yeah too bad they don't make Reps like Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt anymore, becuase if they did Reps may just have won all those blue spots on the 2012 map. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:04:00 PM You cannot compare Republicans and Democrats of today with Republicans and Democrats of yesterday, essentially 1960 and before, give or take a few years. Values, issues, and priorities were completely different. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 2:02:55 PM Andrew155, all your maps show is the party switch between republicans and democrats :P Current republicans would have been democrats not too long ago. And pro slavery. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 1:58:53 PM 'Also, the deep south was solidly democrat for over a hundred years' Do we really have to go over 4th grade political history every time we talk about this subject? |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 1:08:40 PM The problem with this is that 10 of the states where 'free states'. Also, the deep south was solidly democrat for over a hundred years. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 12:25:46 PM I would also like to point out how accepted it is to say that the South is "backward" and that their culture is "barbaric". I really wonder, are there any other cultures in the world that these liberals would let you get away with saying these sorts of things? Like if somebody gets stoned in Iran or Mali, they say, "Oh, but it's not all Muslims, it's just those few". Newsflash, if you think that way about cultures WAY more oppressive than North Florida or Missouri, then why can't you use the same reasoning for the South? It's so strange. |
