Saturday, November 10, 2012 6:45:27 PM I was looking forward to something a little more along the lines of the book. There is so much story to be told, and they want to make it all about him. I was hoping he was the compiler of the stories, not some commando or scientist type. Ugh. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 11:41:36 AM @Drawman: It's psychological: Vampires represent the 'outside dangers' preying on the weak members of society. Zombies represent society itself preying on, well, ANYone who isn't "one of them". Our brains have (subconsiously) figured out that society ITSELF is more dangerous to individuals than 'monsters' are... Just my $0.02 |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 7:07:41 AM So what's the connection between the book and the movie, aside from zombies? |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 4:43:37 AM "What's the attraction of zombies??" I'd like to know this as well. As far as I can tell it's just a handy excuse to kill/maim people in imaginative ways. |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 3:54:27 AM @Mikelae18 Nope he makes it clear that they lose the ability to move as coordinated as we do and thus lose the ability to run and even climb stairs properly (not that they wont be able to get up the stairs though) |

Saturday, November 10, 2012 3:52:28 AM Gah! According to Max Brooks zombies can't run no matter how fresh they are ._. They can walk/jog fast when they're completely fresh, but not run like this... |

Friday, November 09, 2012 11:45:37 PM "So fresh zombie= fast zombie. Decomposed zombie = slow zombie." Zombies don't have full control over their brains, so motor functions suffer. That's why they can't talk. Think Walking Dead zombies. Not Resident Evil movie zombies. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 11:05:07 PM Reminds me of the War Of The Worlds re-make: man trys to keep his family alive while the world is over-run by aliens, er, zombies! WotW was a good re-make! A modernization of a classic made into a watchable film. They can do the "documentary style" for the sequil! @CoyoteKing: Romero's "slow zombies" didn't manage to take over the world! A bunch of 'good old redneck boys' wiped them out! |

Friday, November 09, 2012 7:28:08 PM yeah, I'm disappointed. They should have done it documentary style, since that is what the book is. They just made it a cheap Hollywood movie with Brad Pit...I should I have know. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 5:21:04 PM Was excited, now conflicted, I don't remember there being sprinting in the movie ._. also it could have been so much deeper if they did it kinda District 9-esque with clips of the narrator interviewing survivors and found footage shots of the war. Not really a shaky camera kinda person but it would have worked for this. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 4:52:43 PM @Baelzar What often happens is they'll rush some scenes for the trailer usually CGI ones. What you way isn't the final take. They did that with the Cloverfield trailers too, if you look at those they don't look the same as the actual movie. I'm sure it will look better in theatres. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 4:31:42 PM I guess this is some kind of prequel to I Am Legend, since the CGI looks just as bad. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 4:16:02 PM Eh, really ferdy? The CGI in the LOTR worked because it was a fantasy setting. Here it's just... noticeable. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 3:49:37 PM In regards to the fast zombies. Max Brooks the author of WWZ and The Zombie Survival Guide justifies fast zombies by saying that zombies will have the same characteristics they had when they were alive. As the body decomposes they will slow down. So fresh zombie= fast zombie. Decomposed zombie = slow zombie. I don't totally agree with it, but that's the author's choice. |

Friday, November 09, 2012 3:06:03 PM I'm still looking forward to it even though it's not quite what I expected. The book is kind of like a historical account of what happened so I was expecting to see a movie done as a documentary or something like that. The zombie tidal wave and them opening up on them with automatic weapons is what really got my attention. I hope to see all hell break loose and body parts flying everywhere. |
