I agree with you both on the 9mm, everyone always seems to want a Glock. I think it's just because of the name, like Apple fanboys. I'll take a .45 Colt M1911A1 over a Glock any day of the week. |

I think they got it right on the money. You could substitute a different cal. pistol if you want, but 9mm ammo is by far the most common/available in an emergency.
Also, you can buy inserts for a break open shotgun which allow it to fire whatever ammo is available. A definite must have in a "poo hits the fan" scenario.
The purpose of the pistol is for protection while you're heading home to get your rifle.
I suppose if you live in europe, you can just throw rocks until you get home to grab your butter knife.

Not a bad list. Does the hand gun have to be a Glock? Never really cared for them. For a 9 mm, I really like Beretta.

I prefer .40 cal over 9 millimeter- got a couple of those, as well as a magnum derringer and a couple concealable 38's. A shotgun, which I have NOT cut down the barrel and stock- and some custom wax loads- that this guy shows you how to make on his youtube channel, and a couple 'survival' type 22 rifles. I leave the fancy, gimmicky stuff to those who are willing to spend the bucks that I just won't. |
