i paid 40 bucks for all three movies on blu ray. ok, thats a lie, i paid 40 dollars for the first jurassic park on blu ray, the other two just came with. |

Another thing is that they don't need to take the risk. They don't need to pay some well known actor millions of dollars to star in their movie. they just need to have a good and interesting movie, with actors that are believable (not spoiled and expecting millions of $s). A director who can pull it all together, for the love of film rather than the love for money.
Bottom line is, when the love for money surpasses the love for film, you know the movie's going to be terrible.
Lately i've been watching old movies from the black n' white era. Alfred Hitchcock movies are fabulous. His movie 'rear window' basically had 1 set, but it was fantastic. |

There are a lot of good ideas out there that they don't take advantage of due to fear. Like a movie about Lord nelson and the battle of Trafalgar would be cool. Maybe even a movie about ww1's greatest naval battle, the battle of Jutland. Those are just 2 right off the top of my head, but jeesh it's just like whodat said.. same story.. with different actors and scenery.
They wonder why people stopped going to movies, then started downloading them, and now aren't downloding them at all, just not watching. Well that's why. |

I disagree, I can think of only a handful of "well done original movie" in the the last 10 years. It's all the same recycled bullsh*t, just with different actors playing similar characters.
A perfect example is a film that came out this summer called Ruby Sparks. That pile of sh*t is just a hipster version of Weird Science. They claimed it's not, but we all know they're full of sh*t. |

I don't really agree with that. There are tons of good ideas out there. However, making a movie is a business risk. You want the highest certainty on ROI. Every year we see well done original movies, but people don't go.
So instead they make re-makes, sequels, and movies based on existing content like toys, comics, board games, books, and TV shows since they already have a built in audience and recognition.
We don't take what Hollywood gives us. Hollywood gives us what we'll take. Put the fault where it is due. |

This is the problem with new technology being developed too fast. Hollywood is dried up and out of ideas for movies. Thanks to everyone's stupidity, all they have to do is make older movies 3D and laugh all the way to the bank with your money in their pockets! |
