Not quite true. There was possibility of peace before the 6-day war in 1967. Yes there was tension, but at least there was room for negotiation, then Israel attacked without warning (preemptive war, anyone?) and stole butt-loads of territory.
Perhaps that has something to do with WHY they've been continually trying to eradicate them since 1968. Would you allow Canada to bomb all the Northeast and "annex" much of New England without a fight or even some ill-will? You seem to expect the Arabs to do just that. How does that make any sense? |

Are you saying the Palestinians HADN'T been there for a few millenia? Think again. And try looking up this little thing called the diaspora. The Jewish people had been removed from the area starting around 600 BCE. I don't disagree that they deserve a Jewish state to call their homeland, but don't the Palestinians deserve at least the same? Israel doesn't seem to believe it or want to allow it. That's just not right. |

Yep, They were there far longer than a few decades try a fe millenia. I also refuse to side with a people that use children as shield, safe harbor terrorist groups and still stone people to death call it a hunch. |

I am far from a scholar on this so please be gentle with me, but my understanding is:
-In 1948 the UN split up Palestine into 2 states, basically taking land from the Arabs and giving it to the Jewish people who had been emigrating there for decades.
-The Arab people didn't like that idea, so they fought a war over it (Israel and UK vs. Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq).
-Israel won, so borders were drawn up basically where the UN decided they should be.
-In 1967 Israel preemptively attacked their neighbors, stealing Gaza, the Sinai, the Golan Heights, the West Bank and East Jerusalem, more than doubling the size of the country in 6 days; which was roundly criticized by the UN.
-And they've been fighting over those occupied territories ever since...
I know that's rather simplified, but is that about right? And somehow you all think Israel is in the right? |

Indeed.
There was a lot of media frenzy when Israel attacked a school in Lebanon. What wasn't reported was the fact that the school was being attacked because it was being used as a military base for Hezbollah mortar and gun fire. They don't care if a few kids get killed in the crossfire. it's win win. |

Why does this video surpise anybody? The terrorist scum that is hamas along with their terrorist scum friends like hezbollah have been using children as human shields and political propaganda since this whole thing began. And the world listens and is taken as fools by these propaganda experts.
They try their best to win the war in the media because they have no chance of winning it on soil nor do they have any intention to settle this peacefully by negotiation. |

@McGovern1981 So if the UN were to tell the US that its government no longer has any authority over its lands, and that its lands now belong to the natives, you should be fine with it then. If the UN were to suddenly tell the US government that it is now owned by China and that the Chinese are free to kill any American they want, imprison any American they want, and torture any American they want, you should be fine with it then. You can't have it both ways and not be a hypocrite. |

5Cats, I wasn't saying Israel is the only bad guy... I said both Palestine and Israel were dangerous as each other for world stability.
The point about Israel using the UN.. wasn't to say that it's wrong to do that, it's to point out the hypocrisy of them wanting other nations to have sanctions and to have to obey the UN international law... but consistently ignore it themselves in their operations and state sponsored assassinations.
As for your analogy of the fences... are either the egyptian or US fences in occupied land as designated by the UN? |

It seems you're the one using that logic. In 1948 the UN declared that Israel. Which they immediately had to fight for not just from Palestine but everyone around them. Palestine failed and refuses to let it end. |

@McGovern1981 Palestine has belonged to Palestinians for thousands of years, since the Roman Empire. Using your logic the land you are sitting on right now belongs to the natives, and therefore you should give it up to them immediately. Using your logic 90% of the world belongs to Britain. |

Imagine if you could see the difference. One place has a small group of them not supported by many at all. The other has a large organized group backed by multiple nations. Not suprised your country has a strong history of not siding with Jewish people. |

The only sad part of this video is that Israelis took over Palestine and expect Palestinians to just sit quietly in their homes and die. Imagine if China was occupying America, would Americans just sit in their homes quietly and wait to die? |
