"The Dow has plunged 300 points"

Yes. Read your own article.

"triggered by worries over the looming "fiscal cliff"

Because everyone knows the republicans in the house are going to dig in and not compromise. They'd rather play Russian roulette with the world economy than piss of Norquist.

Yea, I'm not going to read through 13 pages but let me say this:

I'm a black, female soldier and I am proud that Mr. Obama is still my Commander-In-Chief! Hooah!

OK, I take it back. Screw being nice.

Boo, hoo Crakr. Would you like some cheese with that wine?

For years, many poor people have worked their asses off, at the bottom, waiting for your pathetic, "Trickle Down" economics to actually trickle. Instead, all that filtered down was $hit. Now that you have a president that actually wants to feed the middle class and build up the economy, you fight it and complain about your status? Sorry. No magical Underwear, Sky Wizard worshiping, money thief in office for you. All we can hope for is that he will be able to get some real work done and not be blindly stopped by the Republicans at every turn. Time for some real change!

Based on that, clearly the world is ending, Crakr. More than it was during the Civil War and Great Depression.

madest: If I were selfish, like you, I'd say the hell wit hit, so what. But I'm not a narcissistic socialist like you.

I have family that've lost jobs, friends that are unemployed, live in a state that's been completely taken over by Chicago's cronies and to top it off my doctors not going to get paid because Obama is taking 716 billion dollars away from medicare.

The Dow has plunged 300 points, The dollar is down and unemployment went up last month.

So you OWN THIS wreck, doubled down on failure. I don't want to hear even one complaint for the next four years about this country or Obama from any of you liberals.

@ rogue_knight

18 you can vote, own a gun, join the army, but not drink.

That's just wrong 'Merica.

Also you're asking a lot of vague rhetorical questions there.

Who do you think the daddy didn't hug me people voted for? Birds of a feather, nice company to keep. You have to be 21 to drink because youth lacks discretion and judgment, but we let 18 year olds vote and who won the young vote? And what does that indicate about the more logical choice?

Cajun: "What? 5 seats = big? What?"

The teaparty != all republicans. It's a small subsection. They only had a few seats to begin with, lost pretty much all of their seats, as ppl that elected them in realized they're a bunch of crazies. Having them out means that there is a chance the other republicans will compromise, instead of drawing impossibly stupid lines in the sand and not backing down on anything (no matter how stupid). The fact that those seats were lost to dems, may not change the balance of power, but it does help.. maybe this congress will actually get something meaningful passed.

@Cajun: Perhaps most disappointing is the fact that Stein somehow managed to convince almost 400,000 Americans that she should be president.

Either way, Johnson was a step in the right direction. He had almost 3x the number of votes as Bob Barr did in 2008.

Wake up in the morning to find that Obama won and some states made legal weed and gay marriage. Kudos!

Reading the Rep posts on here was the icing on a delicious cake. Don't feel bad guys, he has a back up plan!

Tea party didn't even support Mitt Romney, so I don't understand that assertion.

"Secondly: As much as I'd like to have seen Obama kick ass, it really was close. I may not agree with the Republican's politics, but I have to admit that they ran a good race." - patchouly

It was not really close. Infact, it was an ass whooping. Popular vote always looks close but was 2.5M diff or so... which is a decent amount. But where it counts, in electoral votes.. Pre-Election you could easily project a number of states views giving 237 to Obama and 206 to Romney. The "battleground states" (Nevada, Col, Iowa, Wisc, Ohio, Virginia, Florida & New Hamp) were the only ones that weren't heavily leaning either way. Minus my clusterfrak here in Florida (still counting) Obama won ALL the others.

It did seem close at 10PM EST, but west coast (including the 55 votes for the liberal leaning Cali) hadn't closed and eastern/central states that were closed and leaning Romney had only finished counting the smaller rural votes (which tend to lean ri

"4 more years of Obama butting heads with a Republican house."

Most of the worst headbutters in the house are gone. The tea party lost BIG, giving up a lot of seats to Dems. Might still be Rep majority, but I think having those extreme hardliners out will make compromise a little easier.

The one thing I am disappointed about is the lack of support Johnson received. I was very sure he was going to get 5% easily.

Well there's plenty of Libertarian victory we can celebrate:
Gary Johnson takes 1.1% of the popular vote
Colorado and Washington have legalized marijuana
Maine and Maryland have legalized Gay Marriage
