Oh, FFS, stop responding to criticism like an American. This was a complete balls up. Whether or not anybody else ever ballsed up in the same way is completely irrelevant.

i think a long, drawn out firework display is boring as hell. i went to the rocks in sydney to watch the fireworks one year and found it boring and repetitive. just fire them all up in the quickest time possible, i want to be shocked and awed!

@Kain1: It could be more frequent since fireworks are much more "high-tech" which makes for more, rather than less, screw-ups!
OR it could be that more are recorded, and thus make the news...

@bataleon27 & @LordJim: All the YouTube videos I found carried today's date, so I don't think it's from a year ago...
... although the same thing could easily have happened before, with the company making good later!

I'm pretty sure this happened somewhere else last year, and the company in charge put on a second fire work display free of charge a month later. Might have been new year?

Anyway, it's bound to happen some time when you rely on technology.

f*ck that, this is way better. Instead of an hour long boring as light show, you get one giant explosion that lasts a couple of minutes.

Also, was that a tree on fire at the 52 second mark?
