Tuesday, November 06, 2012 10:58:43 AM I don't think anyone is against the idea of a federal agency tasked with the responsibility of coordinating disaster relief efforts. I think what people, including myself, object to is the bloated, inefficient, corrupt, money wasting, largely useless bureaucratic boondoggle FEMA has become. |

Monday, November 05, 2012 9:15:19 PM To try an analogy to explain FEMA I would suggest that it is like home owner's insurance. FEMA works as a shared risk pool. It is actuarially irrational to shrink the pool and make all members of the pool in essence self-insure. It's simple logic and arithmetic. I know the true-believers will remain unconvinced. Sigh |

Monday, November 05, 2012 12:34:51 PM You know crackr, each of these people have been shown saying the opposite of what was said here. Just wish they added both clips instead of just one. Seriously go look it up. (you won't because it challenges your narrow purview) I think the reason there's so much republican bullpoo on this site is because rational people can't post links on this site with refuting proof. |

Monday, November 05, 2012 8:12:52 AM Leave it to the rich to assume everyone can magically pull money from somewhere. "Just sell a couple stocks, or take a second mortgage your on Summer Home" They are so far out of touch with the average person it's borderline retarded, poo, I'm not allowed to use that word anymore am I? |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 11:29:49 PM I seen no flip-flops here. I see some republicans praising FEMA, after the storm, and others advocating that emergency funds be kept and handled at the state level. Considering that Obama completely ignored Texas's plea for FEMA help, earlier this year, I do believe the states should have control of their own EMA funds instead of the president. |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 10:13:59 PM @Nageki: Seriously dude, you're over 15, you should be able to figure out why Canada cares A LOT about America's economy, politics and culture? Keystone Pipeline: lookitup! Where was it supposed to go through? MY Province! THAT is one fine reason for me to support Romney over Obama! Even if I can't vote, I can hold and voice my opinion. You... can find Canada on a map, right @Nageki? Hey @Nageki: WHY does an American want to watch Anime? It's JAPANESE! Not 'Merican! Cartoons are for children! And womem-folk... See? (I love anime, fyi...) |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 5:00:44 PM Again, why does a Canadian (5Cats) give one poo about US politics? Makes no sense to me. Plus, the Republicans seem to be against anything that will make them points at the moment and then when it will lose them points to be against it, they are for it... I mean flip flop flip flop is Romney's middle name... Then they put out "facts" that are nothing of the sort and keep repeating them after they've been proven to be false. And their base gobbles this crap up and the spews it back out as fact again and again. "Our campaign will not be dictated to by fact-checkers." My last point in a nut shell... |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 3:29:32 PM 5Cats, changing your opinion from the past is fine. Changing your opinion based on who you're talking to is not. That's the difference between whether or not they're flipflopping. |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 2:12:17 PM It must be really hard to be a republican laeder... publicly you have to come up with one straw-man argument, lie and BS statement after another denying reality while privately and quietly, acknowledging that same reality as true and adhering to it...all the while telling your constituents that none of it is true. |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 2:01:35 PM "One rule for you, no rules for me = Liberalism!" Sounds more like Republican banking regulations. |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 12:41:35 PM I believe Stephen Colbert summed this issue up the best: "Right, we should make disaster relief the sole responsibility of the states. Who better to respond to what’s going on inside its own borders than the state whose infrastructure has just been swept out to sea?” |

Sunday, November 04, 2012 12:33:05 PM Jay Carney (White House Press Secretary) = King Of All Liars! It's his job! It's what he does!! It's ALL he does!!! In one clip, Jay refuses to name the Capital City of Israel! Over and over he refuses to say if it's Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. Hysterical... Hint: Obama promised to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv TO Jerusalem... but he didn't! In a recent speach Obama had said "Israel... and it's capital is Jerusalem!" Thus the questions... Democrats change their position: They've 'evolved' Republicans do it: they've "flip flopped" One rule for you, no rules for me = Liberalism! |
