Seeing as Koi can get really expensive, I understand what he's saying. I lost 30+ Koi one year when it got so cold my pond froze solid. I now have a fish pump to keep it from freezing all the way.
Let me put it another way, if it was his cats or dogs, no one would complain, but it's fish, so it's not cute and cuddly. Pet is a Pet is a Pet. |

Geraldo's a good man, guys. And really, the hurricane was no big deal. Just like Irene. When I lived in Florida, they weren't so much either. The people who die do dumb stuff like driving during the storm or not evacuating their beachfront home and hiding in its basement.....nearly all the deaths were preventable. It was a Cat 1, come on. |

FascismYeah: As far as I know Geraldo Rivera is not gay, He's been married five times and has several kids. Even if he was, your language is rather highly insulting, please tone it down.
As far as Geraldo's fish, Why didn't he heed the warnings and make sure his pets were safe and would be cared for, before the storm? It's not like he doesn't have the money to do so. |

I don't think it's douchy. Those fish are not cheap, and he clearly cares about them. He's not talking about saving a couch, or a car, but living creatures that are dependent on him. And it doesn't show what, if any, help he's giving to victims of the storm less well off than he is. |

FYI, Gerry1of1, KOI are fresh water fish so if their pond gets filled with salt water, they die. But, it was kind of insensitive for Geraldo to put this. |
