Wednesday, October 31, 2012 7:54:27 PM @ Izroth.. there is more spanking in the first 20 pages of the Sleeping Beauty trilogy than the entire 50 SHades failure. Its just NOT a good story unless you have NEVER read another book in your life AND were unaware that ANY other "erotica" exists. I mean, I'd guess that NOra Roberts can write sexier stories than E.L James.

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 11:15:48 AM That the book was a bestselling novel is uncontested; that it should be regarded as literature, that's beyond a stretch. |

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 10:15:22 AM It's not perverse at all. Maybe to a 14 year old virgin or a suburban housewife who got married to the first guy she ever slept with and the most exciting sex she's ever had was when they did it on the kitchen floor. Christian Grey doesn't even give her a good swat on the a$$ until the very end of the book. The girl, Anastasia, has an earth-shattering orgasm every other page, including the very first time she has sex. Unless I'm the most unlucky woman on earth, every woman knows this doesn't happen in real life. I read it on vacation and repeatedly rolled my eyes nearly out of their sockets. It lives up to the fact that it is Twihard fan fiction because only a tween would find it titillating. I feel bad for the adult women who think it's scandalous because it means they have really boring sex lives. |
