Yeah I was responding to Douchba-I mean Draculya's general assh*lery, and now to yours. The value of person's life should not be tied to their geographical location or your asinine prejudices, like Draculya's are. Doesn't matter if the people Draculya dismissed were American or goddamn martians, he was being a douche and I responded like one should respond to a douche. What happens in one country does not make what happens in another any less significant except to snobs like you and Draculya.

Also, way to dismiss a tens of thousands of people whose various circumstance you know nothing about. I hope if something happens to you both that there are better people than yourselves looking out for sorry lives.

P.S. Living in Florida most of my life I've been through about 7 or 9 hurricanes, including hurricane Andrew,a category 5 storm, so I'm well aware of the potential damage even a small one can do.

@McGovern: Interesting, but if memory serves, the British actually have quite clean teeth, they just don't care as much if they're straight and nice-looking, so maybe drop braces and headgear instead.

And the UK is doing what to help either??? When something happens accross the pond you'll reap what you sow with that typical Eurotrash attitude.

El_Chinche - news flash, you ain't the only country on the planet right now that's got a hurricane trashing major cities. Your favourite friends Vietnam have exactly the same situation as I type - a typhoon's busily passing over the capital Hanoi and it's a damn sight stronger (it's also the 2nd they've had in 9 weeks).

Besides, this isn't that big a deal after all. A few tunnels in NYC got flooded - that's easily pumped out in 2-4 days, Atlantic City's rather flooded (you'll have to wait for the water to bugger off).

The most stupid thing is a couple of people (like tens of thousands)) ignored warnings to leave (despite what happened to New Orleans a few years ago) and instead decided to put Darwin's theory to the test and see if they'd survive. Now emergency services people will have to risk their own lives to save people who thought they knew better. That's the only real story, the rest is inconvenience that's easily fixed given a bit of time.

homes gone, boardwalk destroyed, exchange flooded, metro submersed... I just can't relate. The world's numb to American suffering. What I really want to know is how many tourists from Ethiopia were inconvenienced in their travel plans by cancelled American flights and how they are coping with the alternate travel arrangements.

Maybe it was Michael Moore sitting in his bathtub when it overflowed?

For the record, when I submitted the link it didn't say "Ariel" that's fancy's fault, I titled it "Atlantic City Boardwalk"

Yeah, lots of people around here have been laughing about it saying that since the Jersey Shore TV show's over that they needed a good scrubbing to clean everything up down there!

To be honest, Sandy hitting the Jersey Shore isn't necessarily a bad thing.
