@CodeJockey: GM and Chrysler got money from the TARP plan, it's true! In Dec 2008.
However, any "lame duck" decision would need to be (and was) ratified by the NEXT Congress (Obama) or it's invalid.

At my link it also says the Gov't gave GM about $700 Million in March and May of 2009, both would be BY Obama, not Bush.

700$? Chicken feed! Chump change! Lolz!

@Draculya: "Cat Calls?" that's the best you got? Sad.

Cats, they were bailed out twice.

One guy gave them 30B which went right into the tank.
The other demanded they they switch managers before anymore help was given because they couldn't precisely explain where the money went (a problem they had for years.)

"The 2009 budget was set by the Bush administration and BEGAN 4 MONTHS BEFORE OBAMA Took office"

@HG: I just knew you'd say something like that! You've become quite predictable in your trolling, eh?

When did GM get it's bailout? June 1, 2009
So BUSH did that? It's a "yes or no" question @HG, try to answer honestly for once.

You: all spending before Sept 30 is the responsibilty of the former PotUS.
Me: Here are several clear examples of why that is false.
You: BUSH'S FAULT!!!!

Once more: Fiscal Year =/= Budget Passed Year
2008 Budget signed by Bush = Bush's fault.
2009 Budget signed by Obama = Bush's fault too!

"The budget for the entire fiscal year..." this is false, a lie, clearly wrong.

HG: my source for the budget numbers is Wikipedia and they source it directly from the bills passed.

If you have a beef with those numbers take it up with the people that wrote the article at wiki.

Che was in love with his own image as the ideal revolutionary man. After he failed at his revolution in the Congo, he was determined to succeed somewhere a little closer to home, hence, Bolivia. Che was killed by Bolivian police who were trained by a Cuban exile turned CIA who was previously involved in the Bay of Pigs invasion, the last person who would make a deal with Castro.

(The african fiasco is also where a lot of the "racism" accusations come from. Che said that the African warriors made bad soldiers b/c they were too superstitious, which they were; and b/c they made bad political decisions, which they did. The U.S. was and still is more racist than Che was.)

"2009 Budget: Bush wrote it! Oh wait... Obama, Reid and Pelosi did.
But Bush signed it! Oh, nope again! It was Obama... "

When you are in the process of being wrong you should probably ditch the sarcasm, because it makes you look more ridiculous.

Here is an article from the CATO Institute, a Libertarian blog.

http://tinyurl.com/245zkev

"The chart is based on the assumption that the current administration should be blamed for the 2009 fiscal year. While this makes sense to a casual observer, it is largely untrue. The 2009 fiscal year began October 1, 2008, nearly four months before Obama took office. The budget for the entire fiscal year was largely set in place while Bush was in the White House."

We can debate lots of things, but this isn't one of them. The 2009 budget was set by the Bush administration and BEGAN 4 MONTHS BEFORE OBAMA T

5cats - The CIA and Bolivian army were never Che's friends. I think you meant Camilo Cienfuegos. If so, you may have a point.

@klaxor: It was my impression that Castro (and whatever political party they both belonged to) SENT Che to Bolivia and then arranged to murder him.
Haven't researched it or anything...

This is all besides the point that 2009 is Bush's budget.

@HolyGod are you STILL beating that dead horse? No matter HOW MANY times I've proven you wrong?

2009 Budget: Bush wrote it! Oh wait... Obama, Reid and Pelosi did.
But Bush signed it! Oh, nope again! It was Obama...

But he's STILL resopnsible! Blame Bush! It's ALL his fault!

Really @HG: You should feel ashamed on multiple levels, eh?

"As I said in another thread since 2008, Obama's spending has increased 78%, from $2.9 trillion to $3.8 trillion today. That's a lot more than 1.4%."

Can you check your data ever? Just do a quick search to see if what you are saying is correct.

2008's federal spending WAS NOT $2.9 Trillion it was $3.168 Trillion.

2012's federal spending WAS NOT $3.8 Trillion it was $3.563 Trillion.

That's an increase of 12% NOT 78%. Hell your WRONG numbers are only an increase of 31%. Can you math?

By the way my numbers are from heritage.org so PLEASE don't call it biased.

"Next time pick someone that's not biased HG."

Jtrebowski Gave you 6 facts, I gave you a pretty big one, and a quote from Republican superstar Jeb Bush. However the only thing you respond to is a quote from a biographer and you choose to refute it with someone's review on Amazon?

"Cannon, Bob Woodward has said, "is a great reporter." He "knows more about California, politics, the White House, the presidency and Ronald Reagan than just about anyone."

I would punch him in the face so hard, the real Che would feel it. (I would do the same thing to anyone dressed up as a Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot t-shirt, and for exactly the same reason.)

I know its weird, but in a country where a majority of the population were illiterate agricultural laborers, Che didn't feel that it was "forced labor" as much as "the people who grow your food do this, you should too."

4. It was quite the opposite. The rich Cubans who benefited under the previous dictatorship and were deposed by Castro orchestrated bombings in Cuba, attacks that went against everyone, not just politicians, but civilians as well. Castro and Che weren't stupid enough to coax the US government by giving them a reason to invade, which they did anyway(Bay of Pigs).

5. I'll give you that. He did call himself a Stalinist. But, in the Cold War latin america, you were either 100%Pro-Capitalism or 100%Pro-Commie. If you lingered in the middle you were liable to be picked up by CIA trained police agents.

Whodat:

1. Che didn't just execute individuals who opposed the Castro regime, if that were the case then there wouldn't be a Little Havana in Miami. Che executed individuals who were convicted of being torturing and assassinating civilians under the orders of Fulgencio Batista. He also executed individuals who gave military aid to the Batista regime...spies, military traitors, etc....

2. I can't say if he enjoyed killing others. I would say that he felt more of a sense of justification than philia. And I haven't read anywhere that he tortured and killed children.

3. Yes he was instrumental in this respect. The greatest fault of the Castro regime was in its treatment of homosexuals. But, Che believed that every individual had a duty to actively work for the benefit of their country. Che would actually spend his "free time" out in the fields cutting sugar cane, which is far from an easy job.

Lou Cannon, journalist and Reagan biographer, says the beloved GOP icon would have a hard time winning the GOP nomination because the California Republicans have moved so far to the right. From the LA Times:

"Reagan would be hard pressed to get nominated today," says biographer Lou Cannon, who has written several books about his governorship and presidency. "Today he would not be in the conservative mainstream. He just simply would not be."

"that last comment just might be the dumbest of all."

Well the things jtrebowski mentioned are all true. Here is some more:

In Reagan's first term annualized growth of federal spending was 8.7%. Meanwhile "the most liberal president ever", Obama, had federal spending growth of 1.4%.

http://tinyurl.com/8lfoonq

"Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said today that both Ronald Reagan and his father George H. W. Bush would have had a difficult time getting nominated by today’s ultra-conservative Republican Party."

Lou Cannon, journalist and Reagan biographer, says the beloved GOP icon would have a hard time winning the GOP nomination because the California Republicans have moved so far to the right. From the LA Times:

“Reagan would be hard pressed to get nominated today,”
