Friday, October 26, 2012 7:49:20 AM if they cant even take their shoes off for the screening than i am not worried about them being able to operate a shoe bomb. The point isn't to insinuate that the old people would do it, but it is conceivable that an actual terrorist could slip something into the old man's jacket pocket or whatever and retreive it on the plane. That's the reasoning, at least. |

Friday, October 26, 2012 7:32:18 AM Actually we've caught several terrorists and kept many of those on the terrorist black list from flying. Courtesy of other agencies yes. NOT the TSA. |

Friday, October 26, 2012 7:03:14 AM Only confusing thing was why I got bodyscanned for my international flight home, but not for the domestics. International flights require the use of rules by the current country and the destination country, at least that's why we had to ask people travelling to America from Canada to take off their shoes and get patted down on the torso. So perhaps it's something of that nature. |

Thursday, October 25, 2012 10:03:01 PM I flew through 3 airports in 6 days last month when I popped over to the US. With the stupid exception of taking my shoes off, I saw absolutely no difference to EU standards (I fly return about once a month). I don't get the fuss about the TSA. In fact, they were even quite fast; the longest I waited was at EWR for 15 minutes and that was at 6:30 in the morning, so rush hour... I was thoroughly impressed. They were nice, polite, informative, did an important job with minimal fuss. Only confusing thing was why I got bodyscanned for my international flight home, but not for the domestics. |

Thursday, October 25, 2012 8:29:02 PM Cajun: Actually we've caught several terrorists and kept many of those on the terrorist black list from flying. Now I don't like the way the TSA does business, I prefer the Israeli model, But they do help keep us safe. |

Thursday, October 25, 2012 4:07:03 PM i fly a lot and see this poo everywhere. its a security thing, they get to walk through the detectors easier than others because taking off their shoes takes them forever. so TSA just takes them to the side and does a personal screening to make sure the 75 year olds are taking bombs on the plane. i say leave the old farts alone. if they cant even take their shoes off for the screening than i am not worried about them being able to operate a shoe bomb. |
