Wednesday, October 24, 2012 5:42:24 PM Of course this stuff is possible. Consider classic oil painting portraits. The amount of work and vision it takes to be able to look at something, deconstruct it in your mind, then to apply that vision layer by layer, shadow by shadow at first in blacks, then moving to darker colors, then moving to lighter colors, then highlights. That isn't even considering gesso or numerous other materials/techniques that can vary. Many portraits took months, with the cooperation of the person posing under different lighting conditions. |

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 5:21:09 PM Pfft. BOOOOORRRRINNNNNG. Chuck Close was doing this stuff back in the 60's. The thing about these drawings is that they have to be really big in order to fit that amount of detail. Chuck at least uses psychedelic colors in his newer work. Or look up Billy Pappas's hyper-detailed drawing of Marilyn Monroe which took him 8 years to complete. |

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 2:20:59 PM I don't know... It's hard to believe unless there was a video, and even that can easily be faked. One person commented on the work in progress pictures and suggested it could be just an awesome photoshop. He could start off with the finished product and just erase portions of it so it looked like he was actually drawing it. |

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 1:37:42 PM this is great, but i wonder if he used a picture to copy from or just plucked it out of his mind's eye. It would be even more amazing if it was the former. |

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 1:11:36 PM I wonder if he can draw with the same quality without copying something, if not then he really is just a real slow copying-machine. |

It's too good to believe. I hate to be one of "those" people who call fake on everything, but this has got to be. I saw the credits and still can't believe. If it is real, the artist can take it as a compliment. He made such a realistic drawing, my mind won't accept it. |
