I love Shih Tzus. They are usually extremely stupid, I mean like borderline retarded for dogs - so it's no surprise one somehow wound up stranded like that, but man are they friendly and fun to play with. I have one and he is so much fun! (for a small dog.) |

Seriously, MacGuffin? Have you never been in contact with a scared animal before? They aren't humans and can't logically deduce that this person they've never met before is trying to save them. Dogs are very trusting and if he /was/ the dog's owner he wouldn't be treating him like a stranger. |

@MacGuffin The dog clearly doesn't trust him because it is cold and scared and doesn't know who the eff the guy is. Totally rehearsed. Maybe you should sick PETA on him, as he was clearly endangering the life of this random puppy to make himself a hero. Wait, who is this guy? Oh right, he doesn't mention himself at all in the video.

@smutleybutt: looks like blackcatseye didn't have too much trouble finding a self-publicised image of the 'hero' in this story. No it's all true the guy's name was Charlie Head, he was paddling from Cornwall to London in training for a cross Atlantic trip, and found the dog near Herne Bay off the coast of Kent. He took him ashore and reported it, and the local dog warden found out the little guy's name is Bam Bam. Charlie says he's keeping him if the owner doesn't come forward. |

I don't know what it is about that video, but something about it screams "bullsh*t" to me. Perhaps it's the fact that the narrator sounds so rehearsed, or maybe it's the fact that the dog clearly doesn't trust him and isn't as happy to be "rescued" as one might expect, but this guy just seems 'wrong' to me. I'm suspicious that he put that dog there purely to make a video in which he plays the hero. :| |
