Tuesday, November 06, 2012 12:43:18 PM 5cats, Under rule# 3, it states that it would be best not to drink every time your team wins a state, but take turns within your team. If you plan on watching alone [or just the only person of your beliefs amongst your group], then you, Auburn, Crakr, Ollie, etc., should have your team here on IAB and split drinks. |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 12:34:55 PM @inaria: Actually, history shows that multi-party systems CAUSE polorization of the parties! Consider Israel (just for example because I'm familiar with it, there's 20+ countries just the same)) They have proportional represention, which means if you get 10% of the Vote? You get 10% of the seats! That means that if 3% of your country are (again, just for example) NAZIs, then the Nazi Party gets 3% of the seats in Parliment!!! ANY lunitic fringe group who can muster even 0.5% support will WIN SEATS! And in that system you don't vote directly FOR a candidate, but rather for a LIST with that party's leader on top... It leads to coalitions, gridlock and FEQUENT calls for election... Just FYI! |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 11:04:19 AM On top of which, by this logic I should vote Romney because he is going to win my state without any doubt. |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 10:44:53 AM @lauriloo As Misfit-Mutt put it it's not about the odds its about principle. I CANNOT agree with either of the big two candidates, thus I don't want either one of them to win. As much as I want MY third party to win, I will accept the outcome regardless. |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 10:41:15 AM @ lauriloo if you think about the amount of people using the same thought process as you, and just voting for the lesser of two evils instead of a third party candidate that they actually might like better, that's a lot of voters. If everyone decided to just vote for who they actually like, the third party platform might actually start becoming more of a mainstream decision instead of just republican or democrat. And, lets face it, America needs more than two parties, or risks getting more and more retarded polarized politicians. |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 9:40:56 AM @Lauriloo It's better to vote for who you believe in the most, than to be a sheep. |

Tuesday, November 06, 2012 9:37:14 AM "I didn't vote for either of these parties so I'm not eligible" If you voted third party, you automatically voted for the candidate you definitely DIDN'T want to win. Voting for someone you know has no chance of winning means you didn't vote for the candidate that HAS a chance of winning and is closest to what you want in a candidate. |
