OMG! Did the little girl survive?
I feel sorry for that poor lil thing! How can you justify to yourself that its ok to hit and kick your 2 year old! I really hope she doesnt make it to a cell and someone tortures her.

The kid was 3. The mom was beating her because of Potty training. As a 3 year old, this kid will probably not recover correctly mentally and/or physically. I get teary eyed because not only was the toddler not able to protect herself, but the one person in her life that was supposed to, was causing the damage. Nobody even knows the suffering the child went through either.
This isn't about murder vs attempted murder, it's about fracturing skulls and breaking ribs of a person the size of a cabbage patch doll. |

99 years? I can understand that, I am just upset that worse crimes get less... with 99 years she would already be dead by the time it's over, but if there is ever a chance she goes out, it's better for everyone if the system is changed from preventive to rehabilitative. |

I disagree with the sentencing here; it's too long.
My reason is NOT because I think people like this should get off after a shorter period of time. But, lengthy prison sentences - which are essentially life sentences - for lesser crimes than murder may encourage these criminals to go the next step and murder their victims.
In other words, if faced with 99 years for beating the kid or a life sentence for murdering her, the criminal may simply choose to murder.
I have no interest in being lenient with these sorts of scum, however. So, give her 20 years - but glue her hands to the wall and beat her senseless every Tuesday for all of that. |

Why 99 years when you could straight up murder a few people and get less? Just out of curiosity.
As a Texan I think most murderers aren't even worth locking up for man than 10 years. This woman though 20 years and relief of custody and deprivation of vistation rights. |

This is not a lesson. It is just revenge from society. A person would look at their kid and think "I sure would like to abuse and torture that kid but that one judge gives out 99 years for that stuff. Oh well, maybe I will get a judge that only gives 20 years or so. Where is that glue??" |
