Friday, October 12, 2012 10:21:34 AM Great video. Regarding the topic of religious belief brought up here by 5Cats, I agree. The supposed differences between science and religion are a fabrication created by those who wish to use their faith for methods to control others, and supported by those who have been duped into thinking this way. People who accept science need to stop falling for this invented argument, just as those who believe in certain faiths need to understand that the morals their religion teaches are not undermined by scientific fact. |

Friday, October 12, 2012 10:08:47 AM I had a nice argument with a relative of mine who was a creationist not to long ago, who was a firefighter by trade. After an exasperating hour of dispute I pulled his training manual off the shelf titled "Manual of Firemanship: Theory of firefighting and equipment" and said, well if it's all a theory then what do you do for a living exactly"... We Haven't talked since. |

Friday, October 12, 2012 8:11:25 AM Calm, reasoned, logical, and, to me, obviously correct. But the question I kept wanting to ask the nice man narrating this clip is, "Were you there?" HA! |

Friday, October 12, 2012 6:28:36 AM "at NO POINT was it suggested by the chaplain teaching RE that accepting what yada yada yada" And that's the difference. Americans are "better" at indoctrinating our children into whatever belief system we held to the point far fewer question said belief system before they indoctrinate their own children. It's a talent. Don't be jealous. |

Friday, October 12, 2012 3:16:48 AM Okay- but I was taught most of this in school 35 years ago ( not quite all because some is recent) - it is clear and easy to understand, at that same school - like ALL others in the UK at that time we ddid RE as a compulsory subject for o-level. at NO POINT was it suggested by the chaplain teaching RE that accepting what our Bio teacher taight us went against what he taught. That being the case- how come people don't understand it over there???? |

Friday, October 12, 2012 12:59:19 AM Should be required viewing for all high school biology students. Possibly Biology AP or Biology II as that shows a dedication to the understanding of the science, where as standard Biology may simply be a state wide required credit. I'm of the impression most teens are idiots anyway, so even if they say "Yes, I feel evolution is real." they'd have a hard time expressing any of the seemingly common sense material (to you and I) covered in this video. Now that I think about it. I wonder how much use high schools get out of youtube nowadays. I mean, pretty much every class has got to be WiFi'd by now, right? |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 10:56:45 PM @broizfam: Thx! People often confuse positions of God versus 'cosmogenisis' (how the universe was created) and 'abiogenisis' (how life was created) as explained right away: 0:15! Some folks think: You believe in God therefor you're a Creationst! OR: You believe in evolution so you must be an Atheist! Both are wrong, as the video (and yourself) point out. This survey shows:
ALARMING numbers of folks do not believe in Evolution. Amazing how dumb we humans can be... |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 10:37:25 PM I was just thinking that if I ever were to become a biology teacher (which I know I never would) I would play this for my class to get rid of any misinformation they might have heard from fundamentalists ...hopefully |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 9:22:07 PM 5Cats, Personally, I'm not a Believer but, yes, you can accept both God and evolution since, as noted in this well stated piece, the theory of evolution only strives to explain process of how life forms change. Many theists won't accept it, though, since evolution requires more time than the Bible supposedly says the Earth has existed. |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 8:09:17 PM 0:21 SEE! I can believe in Evolution AND God (the Creator of the Universe) too! 1:00 Nice explaination! Simple yet accurate. Theories and even facts may change over time, it's LAWS that are fixed. Nice! Doesn't "religion bash" at all! That's refreshing Thanks @kitteh! |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 7:49:40 PM I thought I would learn something but I guess evolution is really that simple. I can't imagine any IABers who do not agree with the facts presented in this video. |

Thursday, October 11, 2012 7:41:37 PM Even though pretty much every normal person believes in Evolution and this video is preaching to the choir, it is very informative. Even people who believe in it can better understand why. |
