You can't appreciate GWAR until you see them live. If you take away all the fake blood, semen, costumes and actually listen to the songs you can hear that they're actually very talented musicians. Performing on stage under the lights and wearing those costumes must be miserable. I never tried but I bet playing a guitar or any other instrument while wearing all that sh*t isn't easy. Unfortunately, most people see the gimmick and immediately write them off as a joke. |

This is definitely one of the bands you have to see live to appreciate. I hate their music, but they put on one of the best shows I've seen. So much stage presence, and its friggin interactive like hell. They disemboweled a sarah palin doll on stage. I left looking like a murder victim with my shirt torn and dyed blood red. So glad I didn't get pulled over, it would have been hard to explain. |
