Did that mother try to drag her daughter to the ground to get to her husband first? Nah, I must have imagined it :) It's a moving clip, that's for sure, glad to see he made it back alive and in one piece!

no matter how it happens, the homecoming of your husband is the best day of your life. I wish more people would have to experience your husband leaving for 11 months and the feeling you get when they FINALLY come home. It's the most amazing thing ever.

Macguff is a hypocrite. Her country, and many others have sent troops to the same wars. She also served time as a "squaddie" , but was fortunate enough not to be deployed. Somehow it's ok for her to enlist, but if an American does the same, it makes them a war criminal.
She must be under the belief that once you join, you get the choice to pick where and when you are deployed.

@McGovern1981 - My thoughts exactly. I think it's funny that the majority of the people here who like to talk sh*t and condemn America for being in the Middle East are from countries who had, or still have, troops over there as well and make no mention of that.

Throughout the course of my 5 deployments I met and worked with troops from Canada, UK, Australia, South Korea, Poland, Georgia, Italy, Netherlands... the list goes on and on.

They neglect to mention it ecause it's so easy to forget that the U.K, Australia, Poland, South Korea, ITALY, Georgia, Ukraine, Netherlands and Spain comprised the MULTI-national force from 2004-2009 in Iraq alone.

It's also easy to forget that in 2009 Abdel Basset Ali Megrahi, the sole person convicted of the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 was released by the Scottish government on 'humanitarian grounds' so that he could die in peace in his own country. Hmmmmmmmm, were those 270 victims afforded the same courtesy?

It's so much simpler to blame the U.S. for all the world's problems. We may not be a perfect country by any means but name one country that is.

Anyway lets continue with this evil Bin Laden, the lonely man that escaped the stronger army in the world for years and years. One day after a raid in his compound that dominate a village in Pakistan(yes not an hidden cave, a large palace visible to all and that everybody knew) was killed by a task force of americans soldiers(the Pakistani antiterrorist force still says that can't prouve the fact), his body was trow in the middle of the ocean, all evidences are missed. Yes all, cause all the memebers of the american task force of the killing operation "misteriously" died in a strange helicopter accident few months later...also the poor military dog died. And this is what your "brave"soldiers are called to do around the world...they are called to bring democracy pff...pfff..haha!(sorry)...and he he...peace in the world...mwahaha!

The end of this conflict leave a destroyed country, where all infrastructures are destroyed and the people die in the street under the violence of the factions that now rules the country. One of the first thing your army have done in the country was to occupy all the oil fields in the zone cutting the first and most important resource of the country, and i am pretty sure that untill today ,also if the war is finish, they still are under control of your armies. During this period the hunt for Bin Laden never ceased, and that evil terrorist sometime appear in some video( and here we have the evidences of his evilness cause despite the passage of years this man appear in all videos younger everytime). Thye Bush era finish, and the smart guy now can pass the rest of his life in peace in his country, yes in his country...cause if he exit he risk to be imprisoned cause of an international mandatory on his shoulders that judge him as a war criminal.
to be continue...

was so impertinent to run and hide in some caves all around the middle east area. This gave the opportunity to your president to spread war all over the area, first Afghaninstan with a war still in process that cost the life of more than 34000 people but for sure the numbers are higer, then sudennly he decided to attack Iraq( the reason of this aggression are not clear or justified till today), the slogan was " We are here for the democracy, we are here to free the people of this country" but the result instead was to free the coutry from his people cause the number of victim is extimated on 601.027, anyway for the smart guys,Bush, is all ok since the words people and country are present in the both sentences no matter the order and the realtion between thems. That war lead to an an astonishing result! The people of the Iraq has passed from the oppression and tortures by the evil dictator Huseein to the oppression and tortures of US army.

Andrew155 where in this post i talk about american nazi?
Anyway, brief resume on the last wars your country have leaded in the last decade.

The day september 11 2001 some american airplane crash on the USA soil, two hitted two skycrapers, this buildings fell down but in company of a building that was not hitted by anything. One invisible, not traceable airplain after a gimkane between trees and electric poles fly at the altitude of like 3 meters from soil and hit the pentagon (hmm seem strange...but you have to belive that cause your government say so). After this facts the mighty president Bush, called the smart guy, declare a global war on terror and target as supreme evil a guy called Osama Bin Laden(yes Laden ,one of the member of the family wich your beloved president was used to do breakfast with). Chosing Bin Laden was a smart move cause the guy(chief of Talibans...yes the Talibans your country have armed and supported with milons of dollars during the 80's) to be con

I kinda understand your stance, why don't we invade Syria and calm it down, Rwanda, Zimbabwe etc, it is all about Western ideals but as I said, and Im not supporting the ideal, but pooe happens, and it stinks cant slag off the guys who enlist to try and sort it out, just doing a job and they do it well.
Been in such a situation, and its hard, real hard

"I do war, Freddy. I just don't do invading poor countries for their oil, terrorising civilians, and coming home afterwards expecting to be treated like something other than a despicable war criminal."

Tis the way of the world now and always has been like rations, or petrol strikes, everyman and his dog was filling up with petrol when the tanker drivers threatened to strike, cover yourself, its a human tribal feature, family - street - estate - county - country - like football, fight between teams, come England vs whoever join together, tis the way we are, until ET arrives then, and only then the world will become a global team, cos we have a common enemy, Its basic Human survival, not good, but its the way it is

MacGuffin has a good point. I actually see the german ww2 mentality all throughout the star spangled nations' military. too much pride and arrogance and superior mentality going on there.

Right on the money. Some Americans find my analogies shocking and disturbing. They wouldn't if the similarities weren't so very striking.

it is a little misguided to blame the individual soldiers for the war.

Yes, you're right. At least in the case of the Nazis. They were conscripted. American war criminals, on the other hand, commit their crimes against humanity as a free choice.
