I am saddened that you all think it is that fair. A few votes here and there can swing the whole thing, after that it is decided by the electoral college, not by you.

markust: You seemed to be quoting the numbers from Zira's NYT link.

But one of the problems with your RCP link is that over half the polls are pre-debate polls and the Gallup poll began before the debate.

That leaves Rasmussen as the only all post-debate poll right now.

"I wouldn't go believing those NY Times numbers. They got the 2010 congressional elections wrong and people were stunned."

NY Times? They weren't even in the main list of polls I linked to. I was talking about Rasmussen and how deceitful they are right up until the week of an election. If I had said Rasmussen four times instead of three would you have figured it out?

It really doesn't matter. All this arguing is for nothing. Obama is so popular he is sitting at 237 electoral votes. He only needs 33 swing state votes to win. Mitt needs 46 just to catch up. Even if Romney wins Florida and North Carolina he still would need 2 more votes to catch up. Good luck with all that.

Crakrjak, Rasmussen is very good the last week before the elections, but they are in the hand of the Republicans the rest of the time. Look at the polls right now. Everyone else has Obama up around +3, one has a tie, but Rasmussen has Romney +2. Scott Rasmussen is such a scum he will do anything to get his poll in the news, and that includes manipulating the numbers to put the Republican candidate in the lead.

QueenZira: ...you're dense enough to believe that the Prez is a foreign born Muslim communist from Mars

Building a straw man of me eh?

Sorry, I don't believe that. But you keep believing that of me, it makes you appear that much more of a fool.

V You're a poll conspiracy theorist now too? Well I suppose if you're dense enough to believe that the Prez is a foreign born Muslim communist from Mars anything is more palatable than the truth.

QueenZira: The NYTimes is not impartial, their polling has been shown to poll more democrats than republicans by as much as 10%.

madest & lillian: Rasmussen: Romney 49% Obama 47%

That one counts very well. Link

The excuses the Obama team is making for his poor showing are pretty lame and the voters aren't falling for it.

Also the October surprise came twice yesterday for Obama.

Unemployment is down to 7.8% the lowest it as been in four years. A strong holiday shopping prediction is going to drive up season hiring which will make the October numbers very strong so don't count on bad news there. That report will be release the friday before the Presidential vote.

The Deficit is down to $1.1T the lowest it has been in four years and is projected to be $900B next FY. Although slowly, under Obama we are pulling out of this recession.

Spin spin spin those numbers it won't make your lies true:
Fox News: Jobless rate dips under 8%, but is number real

The economy is recovering under Obama and the people are starting to feel it. Obama will come back fighting the second debate like history has shown with sitting presidents. Obama will win.

"Kerry never came within a mean person-hair of Bush in the polls, but Romney is one October Surprise away from winning."

Romney hasn't come close to winning in the Gallup polls. Kerry also won his first debate. The only difference is Kerry's win pushed him ahead in the polls momentarily. Romney's win has done nothing. Yesterdays Gallup results are in and Obama is at 49%, Romney 46%. So I guess you are right. Romney is not like Kerry, he's worse.

AJ, I think you're being a little too optimistic about Romney. It'd take Obama MAJORLY screwing up within a month for Romney to pull ahead.

CJ, or you can check the gallup poll

Tuesday, October 2: Obama 49 Romney 45
Thursday, October 4: Obama 50 Romney 45

Obama increased by 1 post-debate, Romney stayed the same, despite Romney "winning".

National Journal Poll:
Tuesday, October 2: Obama 49 Romney 45 O+4
Thursday, October 4: Obama 46 Romney 47 R+1

It's a good thing jamie didn't bet me. That's a 5 point positive swing to Romney.

All you butt-hurt libs are so pathetic. "Romney cheated!" "Romney lied!" "It was the altitude." 'Obama was afraid to sound like an 'angry black man.'"

The fact is, this is the first serious debate Obama has had in his entire life, and he just wasn't up to it. That's all.

Eastwood debated an empty chair, and Romney debated an empty suit. Now the whole world is finding out what many of us have know for at least 4 years: Obama = SCOAMF.

chalket: Obama pulled that $5 trillion number right out of his ass the other night and CNN called it false. They even got one of his campaign staff to admit it was a lie.
