Friday, April 01, 2005 1:48:41 AM Shikikan, every band has a simmilar style, yes. But I am IN a band, and playing all our songs together don't END at the same time, don't start ROCKING at the same time, etc, unlike nickleback. Nickleback sounds WAY TO SIMILAR to be a fluke or 'style.' I hate nickleback now. Oh, and I love the band QUEEN, but when you listen to the 'another 1 bytes the dust' backwards, sure, it may sound like it says 'it's fun to smoke maruana' but I have spoken to brian may, gutaiist in QUEEN, and he's a nice guy, and has never smoked maruana, I know for a fakt. It is a FLUKE! I thought you ought to know. =-) |

Friday, January 28, 2005 1:57:34 PM just cuz it sounds the same dont mean poo > it makes me mad that u dont have nething else to do better in your life but to critize others. nickelback isnt even as worse as some of the groups out there. theres ones way more worse. so u need to understand what your writting about before u decide to go and do it. i dont understand why u dont have nething else to do better in ur life. |

Thursday, January 27, 2005 4:38:10 PM I would say people play what gets them ratings. Talent is in the ears of the listeners. Your music could be awesome to you but if you either don't have the connections or nobody agrees enough to buy your stuff over other stuff perhaps you aren't as good as you think you are or these musicians think they are. Besides like I said, I only care what music sounds like, and nickelback has at least one or two songs I've heard that I like, same with most bands. |

Monday, January 24, 2005 8:37:41 PM Hey wolf how would you like it if you were a musician who has talent and creativity and can right your own music and those nickle-idiot-backassess get to have their cookie cutter garbage played and yours don't? |

Monday, January 24, 2005 4:12:50 AM Both songs have exactly the same structure, same chord progressions, same everything. It's not just a stylistic similarity. To me those two songs are pretty much exactly the same, with variations in the melodies."This is How You Remind Me" was catchy for all of 2 minutes when it first came out. Then it became yet another generic bland rock song that we will all forget about in 10 years. Music is supposed to be a form of self-expression, and well, I guess these guys don't have very much to express. |

Sunday, January 23, 2005 11:43:08 PM Nevermind. My left speaker wasn't working at the time. Yeah, they sound the same. But what can you expect when you have a big hit like their 2001 song and expectations are high follow up with another hit? I guess some bands have the balls to come up with something original, but they chose to be wussies. |

Sunday, January 23, 2005 10:26:31 PM Suicism how do you play professionally or for who. Not that I like Nickleback or anything it's just that anytime there's something dealing with music everyone's always like I play with this band, I do this for a living blah blah blah. I always have to challenge this because 90% of the people are liars. Not saying that you are but it's just a pet peeve anymore. Every band like Nicklebacks plays the same song over and over, watch some dumb cover band at a bar one night, they'll play 30 songs that all sound the same from 25 or so different bands. People in general are untalented anymore. It kills me when people do "side projects" from bands and they sound just like the band they're already in. |

Sunday, January 23, 2005 9:46:37 PM I can see the similarities, though since the songs started about 5 seconds apart on my computer, I had to listen a few times to pick up on it...Suicism, are you sure that it's exactly the same? I don't play my violin and clarinet professionally, don't plan to, but I've played them for 10 years, and studied some music history in there as well. Not to mention paying attention to modern composers, and everyone does have a style...course, as I said, the songs had a good gap between playing, so...but even if it's as you say, music has always had formula, no matter what the genre. |

Sunday, January 23, 2005 4:25:56 PM Thats funny... and bands like Slipknot do not sound the same.... at all... if you actually listened to it you'd realize it's not always 'screamin' crap' go ahead and put two slipknot songs together, they won't sound the same. Plus Slipknot has 9 members for a reason to get different sounds and beats. So don't diss stuff when you don't understand it. |

Sunday, January 23, 2005 1:37:21 PM the music did sound alike: similarites: written in same key, exact same chord progression, same phrase length, same form, drums kick it up and same time in song, bridge comes at same time, about the same length.Differences: Bass plays different rhythms, treble harmonies added on right side but not left, obviously the melody of the lyrics and the lyrics themselves are different. If you put the lyrics to one song to the other song, it probaly sound just fine and only nickelback fans would notice. its like they added some harmonies, changed up the rhythms, put new lyrics to it and came out with a "new" song. |
