I wondered for a second when she said she was reading American Psycho if she would be reading one of the really messed up scenes (the book is considerably more brutal than the film). It is funny, while reading the book I judged the character more for liking Whitney Houston and Genesis than for all the murders. Easton Ellis has said the hardest thing about writing the book wasn't, as he had anticipated, writing the murder scenes. Instead it was spending a month listening to Genesis for research.
