Monday, October 01, 2012 4:18:39 PM Dan Piraro had a cute little comic which properly sums up my point of view on the subject of PETA and/or vegans... it had a cow and a chicken telling a girl that they had feelings and should not be eaten; then it had a stalk of corn saying that it is just as alive as the cow and chicken and it should not be eaten either; THEN there's a rock that says, "don't bet any ideas or I'll smack you upside the head". Anyone ever see that one? |

Sunday, September 30, 2012 7:54:21 AM #2 *continue from post below: PETA condones criminal actions against completely legal industries. They have given grants to domestic terrorist organzations like ALF and ELF, both in which have been responsible for bombing of testing faciliies. I'd go on but I can feel myself getting angry just by thinking about the other points I have so ill leave it here. |

Sunday, September 30, 2012 7:52:31 AM @spanerbulb. The PETA motto is that they oppose the use of laboratory animal for ANY kind of drug testing. Period. It's not what's used today thats the point, the point is that a lot of life sustaining medication in common use today was developed through testing on animals, and by animal byproducts. If not for that scientific line, those products might never have seen the light of day, or would have done so many years later. PETA has a point to stop animal cruelty, but I cannot in good conscience support an organization that: Opposes people having pets. litteraly, doglovers and catlovers and all lovers of any kind of animal, that has them in their domestic residence, is considered a animal cruelty effecienado. Very bluntly put. Lastly, Ingrid Newkirk is probably the worlds biggest hypocrite within the realm of animal lifesaving. She supports the illegal removal of laboratory animals and other facility animals. It amazes me that a organization like PE |

Saturday, September 29, 2012 6:09:38 AM Funny how they always get some nudity in there to attract attention, most likely cause no one would pay attention otherwise. Uhh, I'll take my seafood thanks, I like not starving, sure lots of people do. |

Saturday, September 29, 2012 1:55:04 AM Andicicle - pig insulin has not been in significant use for many years. I really don't think the head of PETA would deliberately seek to use an animal based product when the synthesized version is in widespread use. A little bit of common sense should perhaps be exercised before you comment in the future. I don't agree with many of PETA'S objectives but they do some good work. |

Friday, September 28, 2012 3:03:03 PM Peta is a hypocritical organization. The woman in charge its diabetic and takes PIG INSULIN daily. Their big plan is to have all pets, lab and zoo animals set free. What a joke. |

Friday, September 28, 2012 2:44:58 PM @madest: "PETA has made us a better country and a better people. Everyone owes them a debt of gratitude." Every time you whine about me being a Canadian I think I'll remind you of this little gem! Plus: His pants are tucked in! TUCKED IN!! Meanwhile: Plants have feelings too, we should stop eating those as well. |

Friday, September 28, 2012 2:04:55 PM What services for animals does peta provide? I've not seen any peta animal santuaries or care facilities. They're really good at being preachy though. Also good at providing pictures of naked people. |

Friday, September 28, 2012 1:28:12 PM Just because they don't have your opinion doesn't mean they're "dumbasses". PETA has made us a better country and a better people. Everyone owes them a debt of gratitude. |

Friday, September 28, 2012 11:15:59 AM They're all nucking futs! In 1996, when I was a senior in high school, they campaigned to get the name of a city in the Hudson Valley near where I grew up changed. The city is named "Fishkill" and they felt it suggested cruelty to fish! The area was first settled by the Dutch and there are a lot of cities and towns that end in "kill" which is the Dutch word for "creek." They wanted the name changed to something like "Fishsave" or "Fishlove." (yes, these are two of the ridiculous names they actually proposed to the mayor) I know it sounds like a joke but it's true! |
