The subtitles as well as the the sound effects are out of sync... The dubbed version is waay better in sync... |

The difference between the dub and the subtitles is great. That said, this is one stupid movie. |

I was going to watch it, 'cause this is one of my favorite movies, but everyone is saying it's the dubbed version. I hate dubbing. Give me subtitles, I'm a fast reader. |

One of my favorite movies. It's definitely niche, but if it's your kinda humor then this one's up there with the best.

This is a classic (and the first film for the beautiful Eva Huang). Another really funny martial-arts/wuxia spoof is the 1993 film, "The Eagle SHooting Heroes," directed by Jeffrey Lau. It's got a great cast, too (including Brigitte Lin and Maggie Cheung):

Oh the non-dubbed version is SO much better. You may have to read it, but you can feel the dialog so much better. |

I *LOVE* this movie... Stephen Chow was brilliant, and wouldn't be where he is today without this film under his belt (as far as directing or starring in it).
The Landlord and Landlady make some of the best characters ever played on film. There are actually two versions of it on DVD release - if you look at buying it, get the first version that came out that did not have English dubbing, but only subtitles - much funnier than the version where they did the English dubbing.
