@sicker... I didn't see the vid cuz it got taken down but you can't just vote for someone who cares more about the majority. You vote for the one who is going to do the best job. The majority is obviously important but so is the minority. We can't tax the rich too much because the middle and lower class will lose jobs.
I get your point though and I don't totally disagree with you. GK chesterton said something like the problem with capitalism is not that there are too many capitalists, but too few. |

I never comment on the political posts, but this is how it should work - you vote for the guy who cares about the majority. The majority of US citizens are broke, so you vote for whomever wants to fix that. You do what's right for the good of your neighbors, not yourself. If voting for the guy who benefited rich people was a system that worked, the country wouldn't be as screwed as it is. |

There are Undecided voters and there are non voters. I chose not to vote for this country run by Banks and greedy politicians. It wont make a difference. |

I'm all for democracy but I that is why I think you should have to pass some sort of competence test to vote. Or maybe your vote is multiplied by your score or something. |

Mildly funny, but mostly annoying. Completely one-sided although I imagine the IAB-Liberals will claim he's "unbiased" for reasons unknown.
"Focus Groups" yeah, it is the stupidest thing the MSM has come up with in the past decade, lets hope it's time has passed, eh?

i see a decent number of people saying here what i have been saying for a good while when it comes to only 2 choices. if you don't like either then instead of voting for 1 of them arbitrarily or just not voting at all, you should vote 3rd party. the more people that do it, regardless if the guy has no chance, it shows how many people are not satisfied with the Reps or Dems. and I think that number of people that are not satisfied with just 2 parties is a much larger number than the media will lead you on to believe. |

does make a good point overall. but i think he got one thing wrong. i don't think people are trying to figure out which of the only 2 options they are give that they like, but rather which one to they dislike less. |

Yeah, seriously guys, put your vote to actual use and vote for anything but Obama or Romney. Gary Johnson is the best alternative, in my opinion, but it really doesn't matter - just anything other than the status quo. Send a message. Don't give them support they don't deserve. |

@markust123: You're pretty much right. I still watch the show religiously. (Using the word with a wink) 9/10 times, there are two liberals and one conservative on the panel. The conservative always sits closest to Maher. If it were only liberals on the panel, I would probably stop watching it because it would just become a political circle jerk, and that's just not fun to watch. Generally the conservatives can hold their own, although they often get visibly upset by being ganged up on. The most extreme example was Michael Steele on his most recent appearance earlier this year where the attacks became personal (on both sides). |

If neither candidate is the right candidate, go to vote, but don't put down a vote for that office.
If 1000 people go to vote, but candidate A gets 400 votes, and cadidate B gets 300 votes, what does that say?
It says that neither person deserves to be in the office, but due to a lack of anything else still get in.
Or you could vote for me!!! If elected I'll have both Bill O'Reily and Bill Maher tied down and spread eagle so everyone can kick them repeatedly in the nuts for the constant s**t spewing!

Agreed, but then they'd have the same problem we do: first-past-the-post voting. That kind of a voting system doesn't work very well with a multiple-party system. |

Yeah, a wide range of ideologies on that show alright, Left, Far Left, Socialist, and occasionally Obama-Left (used to be called Communst, but we don't use that word any more).
I suppose guests like David Frum, Christine O'Donnel, Michael Steele, Ron Paul, S.E. Cupp and Grover Norquist could be considered socialist...although you're correct there are many more libs on there usually, but that could be because conservatives just don't want to do his show, and I wouldn't blame them. |

You clearly have never watched the show. There is almost always an intelligent opposing view in the panel. The shows are boring if there isn't. But the show is real fun when there would be a far right extremist. (Well that is my experience from two years ago. I haven't watched the show for a while. I doubt things have changed.) |

No guys, I would say the bulk of the ignorance are the party shills. The people who vote for the party, and not the issue.
For those undecideds, I highly recommend not voting for either party. There is no reason to be satisfied with either of them, so why do they deserve your vote? Don't be a pawn in their games. Vote for Gary Johnson, or at least the Green Party or something. Johnson will be on at least 47 state ballots. Helping Johnson, or another 3rd party candidate, get just a few percentage points would make your vote more valuable than it ever could have been had you voted for Obama or Romney.
Seriously, you think Obama or Romney deserve your vote? Guess who is the real ignorant one. |

I had to stop watching Bill Maher when I gave up partisan media. Getting to see a clip like this is such a guilty pleasure. I will give him props. He doesn't cherry pick his panel so they agree with him. He has a wide range of ideological people on to make the show interesting. Whack jobs from both extremes get their chance on his show. |

Maybe 10% of so-called undecided voters are "unsatisfied" (though "dissatisfied" would be more correct here), most of the rest are just as Maher describes and many of them seem proud of their ignorance.
