Wednesday, September 26, 2012 11:12:57 PM He's signalling to stop the clock, and then possibly for a touchback, but apparently we'll never know now. They didn't even confer over it, which the head referee (the guy in the white cap) should have done right away. However, the replay officials (who are not on strike) confirmed the ruling on the field, which open up a whole new can of worms. But then, they wouldn't be able to cause a change of possession anyways. It would have had to have been ruled an incomplete pass. |

Wednesday, September 26, 2012 4:01:08 AM @oldollie - idiots? So because someone's hobby or interest doesn't fall in line with yours they are idiots or somehow less important than you are? Must be fun ruling the world you construct within your head. I imagine the subjects are ever so happy under your iron thumb. |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 11:08:21 PM "the other calls an incomplete pass" I was at the game with my ex who knows all the ref signals. He called this one the guy on the left is doing out of time or something. I don't know the crowd was going crazy. I wasn't really listening. It definitely isn't for incomplete pass. That is the signal below.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 6:20:23 PM Being a Packers fan, let me tell you, I have never screamed at my TV like that in all my life. Even given the refs blatant disregard of the offensive pass interference, that pass was clearly intercepted by Jennings. There was no simultaneous catch. Jennings caught it and maintained control. These replacement refs have been ruining the entire season with crappy calls and ignored fouls. I don't think I can even watch anymore until the regular refs come back. |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 3:45:18 PM I have seen still shots and replays from different angles. There were four hands on the football with no feet on the ground. Jennings was more in control than Tate and there was an uncalled foul before the catch - but those things don't matter to the rule of the game concerning duel possession. Simultaneous catches go to the offense. I have seen worse calls in this situation made by "real" referees |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 11:23:08 AM >>>Stop watching games on TV and going to the stadiums. My 13 year old son got disgusted and quit watching Sunday night.<<< I enjoyed the game Sunday night more than any in a long line. Just like the old grudge matches and you never new when or if a flag would come out. The suspense was great the added drama associated with the officials was very entertaining |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 10:17:48 AM I'm done watching until the real refs come back. It's the only way to force the league to negotiate with the refs. Stop watching games on TV and going to the stadiums. My 13 year old son got disgusted and quit watching Sunday night. It took me one more game to agree. |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 9:20:39 AM 'I heard on the radio this morning that the NFL got their cache of scab replacements from the now defunct lingerie league' Let's face it, if I were a referree I would want to work in the Lingerie Football League. |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 9:20:03 AM 'The announcers on ESPN said the ref almost never call penalties on those hail mary passes' This is true. 'and that any tie catch goes to the offense' This is also true, but it clearly wasn't simultaneous possession.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 9:18:04 AM The announcers on ESPN said the ref almost never call penalties on those hail mary passes, and that any tie catch goes to the offense, so if thats true, this would NOT be the worst call by the rookie refs this season. There were two others in that game that were more blatant. That said, it looked like the officials had big money on the Hawks

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 9:12:38 AM 'Not a catch until both feet hit the ground.' @ajd121 You do know there is more criteria for a completed catch than just both feet hitting the ground, the receiver has to have control and possession of the ball, which is identified in this situation by Jennings have control of the ball against his chest as he comes down with both feet, unlike Tate who didn't even touch the ball until Jennings started to pull it down to his body, plus @handimanner is right Tate did push off so it was offensive pass interference anyway |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 9:03:45 AM Tate pushed off to claim possession of a ball that was first caught by Jennings. Offensive pass interference. Incredibly bad officiating (and I was rooting for Seattle) |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 8:44:10 AM Its is a game, nothing more. My son could ref the game and it would have the exact same impact on society. DING!! There's our problem and we give these mongoloids a free ride through college cause games have so much to do with education. |

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 8:31:00 AM "the Green Bay corner caught the ball and pulled it into his chest, which by NFL rules is a catch, " @JoeZombie Not a catch until both feet hit the ground.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 8:00:48 AM I'm not a fan of either team but GB got hosed. Don't cite a bunch of simultaneous possession mumbo jumbo. The receiver pushed a guy in the back and to the ground before he "caught" the ball so it is irrelevant. There should have been a penalty. Black mark for the league.
