I've seen so many photos from this beach. The island is St. Martin, and there isn't an extra mile of land to share. Learn your facts before posting such stupidity |

@Jakk88, Hong Kong also has a higher volume of air traffic and it's $23 Billion dollar island was necessary to handle the 20 million passengers that pass through this airport yearly. St. Maarten passenger traffic is nowhere near that amount and building or extending the island would not be necessary unless there is a significant safety issue. <3 |

Not exactly the length of the island, but it was about the only level land, long enough, that they could put and it has a volcano mountain in the middle of it.

I look at the Bing Maps: the other end of the runway is also directly on the water!
idk how to bring the map here, try: 18.0667 -63.0667 and look for "Simson Bay Village" to the south west... |
