I made it about 20 min in. That was probably the stupidest thing I've ever seen. At least some of them realize it's campy. |

You know, I didn't grow up in a community with a heavy goth scene, but I watched the entirety of this video to learn what I've been missing this whole time, or more specifically since the early 90's when Goth got it's spot in the limelight...
Honestly I was disappointed. I thought there was something to Goth besides a bunch of kids dressing up in black trying to figure not only themselves, but eachother out. I thought there was a common link, something that was common knowledge in Gothic societies that unanimously attracted every Gothic moth to the same black flame... something like 'Yes, what people don't know is that Goth originated from Sir blah blah blah, who began Gothic culture".. sort of how John Norman's books of Gor began Gorean RP (no I'm not Gor lol).
But Nope... Goth seems to me now what it always seemed to me... the abyss beyond society that catches all the rejects that fall off the grid of life. |
