Since you claim to want to leave the conversation but keep posting...
I'd still really like to know what makes you think a CEO's few million dollars in pay adversely effects a company with 150 billion in revenue.
Please, no cop outs. change my opinion, I like to be proven wrong. Its okay, it wont hurt my brain. |

Mark -- so you mean the way you use it is by definition. I think I understand your motives, which is all I was asking.
However, most political minded people tend to think of partisanship as a constructive thing. middle-ground ideology and pleasing everyone is not always beneficial.
That is all I was suggesting -- hence the lecture I linked. |

Was all I could find on the debate of whether it was a good thing or a bad thing. Which is why I posed the question to have you elaborate on your claim. I think it is rather important to stand up for one's beliefs. If that sometimes (in politics) involves poking fun at the other party, then it may encourage discussion -- a motive for the other party to "prove" their point if you will. |

No, you posted a partisan image that lacked humor in any way. But I could tell you were partisan well before you posted that. I've been spending the last couple months blocking Facebook friends on the left and the right who post these stupid partisan pictures. They don't change anyones minds. They just show who I don't need to waste my time talking to. Two weeks after the election I will unblock these Facebook friends. |

So you really think a few million paid to a CEO 'hurts' a company like GE? Why do you think that? In what ways does it hurt? You have only mentioned that it hurts the employee's paycheck, which i have provided numbers for you to show that assumption is incorrect.

Lets just take a look at some random company.. how about one that didn't pay taxes, like general electric?
Employ's 301,000 people.
CEO compensated over 14 million in 2007
Lets take that CEO's pay and divide it among the workers.
Oh wow, a whole forty six dollars over a year, or, 2 cents an hour raise.
Yes, that CEO is clearly taking money from your paycheck and pension! |

How he went about getting his wealth is a problem
He does not pay any taxes on his earnings is a problem
That he has no emPathy for his fellow citizens who are going through terrible hardship, often because of the very business practices he made money from, is a problem.
He now wants to run a country like a private country.club is a problem. |
