Friday, September 21, 2012 10:02:45 AM Since you claim to want to leave the conversation but keep posting... I'd still really like to know what makes you think a CEO's few million dollars in pay adversely effects a company with 150 billion in revenue. Please, no cop outs. change my opinion, I like to be proven wrong. Its okay, it wont hurt my brain. |

Friday, September 21, 2012 7:09:28 AM Mark -- so you mean the way you use it is by definition. I think I understand your motives, which is all I was asking. However, most political minded people tend to think of partisanship as a constructive thing. middle-ground ideology and pleasing everyone is not always beneficial. That is all I was suggesting -- hence the lecture I linked. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 10:08:07 PM Partisan Wiki: "...In multi-party systems, the term is widely understood to carry a negative connotation - referring to those who wholly support their party's policies and are perhaps even reluctant to acknowledge correctness on the part of their political opponents in almost any situation." Merriam-Webster: "1: a firm adherent to a party, faction, cause, or person; especially : one exhibiting blind, prejudiced, and unreasoning allegiance" Please tell me that you are messing with me. That seriously took less than a minute. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 9:22:59 PM mark -- you assume I didn't? “Partisanship, for lack of a better word, is good. Partisanship is right. Partisanship clarifies, it cuts through, and it captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit,” says R. Shep Melnick, Thomas P. O’Neill, Jr. Professor of American Politics Was all I could find on the debate of whether it was a good thing or a bad thing. Which is why I posed the question to have you elaborate on your claim. I think it is rather important to stand up for one's beliefs. If that sometimes (in politics) involves poking fun at the other party, then it may encourage discussion -- a motive for the other party to "prove" their point if you will. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 7:53:50 PM @markust123 -- Being "partisan" means you are committed to your party. I am not quite understanding how you keep throwing that around as an insult or bad thing. Care to elaborate? |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 12:11:11 PM I have to jump out of this. Being in a partisan fight about trying not to be partisan is really hurting my brain. If you really do just want to talk numbers find a post with HolyGod. He's fun. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 12:08:41 PM So what does that have to do with ceo's paychecks? It's okay to admit you were wrong about something, you don't need to deflect the discussion into something completely unrelated. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 12:04:47 PM "i posted a humorous image after you have stated you will no longer be participating in this discussion." No, you posted a partisan image that lacked humor in any way. But I could tell you were partisan well before you posted that. I've been spending the last couple months blocking Facebook friends on the left and the right who post these stupid partisan pictures. They don't change anyones minds. They just show who I don't need to waste my time talking to. Two weeks after the election I will unblock these Facebook friends. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 11:52:03 AM Numbers are not partisan. You seem to want to make it a partisan fight. Nowhere have I defended Romney or made any mention of him. However it is true, i posted a humorous image after you have stated you will no longer be participating in this discussion. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 11:41:06 AM Give it a rest Tacos4Brkfst. If you look at my comments below I was sticking up for Romney. This is a stupid video and a stupid post. I'm not going to get into your partisan fight. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 11:36:36 AM Yay, I knew you could do it. So, back to opinions and facts. So you really think a few million paid to a CEO 'hurts' a company like GE? Why do you think that? In what ways does it hurt? You have only mentioned that it hurts the employee's paycheck, which i have provided numbers for you to show that assumption is incorrect. Cry partisan all you want, it doesn't change anything. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 10:23:01 AM I think the extra $10-12M he is getting is hurting the company. Not going to call you names. That is just my opinion. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 10:19:24 AM OK Huff Po submission from a few days ago. Clearly this is in a joking context. Plus look at him. He looks 10 years younger. When and where did this come from? Seems just another ha ha we caught you bit from the far left. |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 10:17:18 AM "Things like that sucks money from the workers pensions and pay" Mark, that statement is dumb. Lets just take a look at some random company.. how about one that didn't pay taxes, like general electric? Employ's 301,000 people. CEO compensated over 14 million in 2007 Lets take that CEO's pay and divide it among the workers. Oh wow, a whole forty six dollars over a year, or, 2 cents an hour raise. Yes, that CEO is clearly taking money from your paycheck and pension! |

Thursday, September 20, 2012 10:11:20 AM Don't think anyone has a problem with his wealth. How he went about getting his wealth is a problem He does not pay any taxes on his earnings is a problem That he has no emPathy for his fellow citizens who are going through terrible hardship, often because of the very business practices he made money from, is a problem. He now wants to run a country like a private country.club is a problem. |
