That flowchart should have been so much simpler:

Obama has been a lying turd during his entire first term. As much as I loathe Romney, voting for Obama to get a second term will just be your special way of saying "Thanks for lying to me for the past four years, Obama; please sir, can I have some more?"

Don't encourage the lying arsehole. Come November, both sides should be left with egg on their faces as no credible winner emerges.

Entitlement is not welfare. Social Security is an entitlement for the people who have retired. It's welfare to the likes of Paul Ryan. Entitlement meaning you've spent your working life contributing to it. If there is some sort of overhaul on SS and other entitlements I would agree with means testing for recipients and no cut-off for contributors who's income reaches a certain level.

"And Markust, that Julia thing is really fracking creepy."

I think it is awesome because as you and CJ have shown it riles the cons so bad. Sure it's filled with much spin but there are good things Obama is doing for society that are in there. The biggest being helping students in college.

"What's so ridiculous about thinking people shouldn't be entitled to food? We're an obese nation."

Your solution to obesity: Starve poor people?

"Or even housing? What, we should give free housing now?"

You're against homeless shelters? Those evil poor people wanting a safe place to stay instead of living on the streets!

"Just move outside the city and you won't be poor."

You need money to move, you need money to not be poor. Poor people aren't usually poor by choice or even by where they live.

"It's simple."
Simple to say, not simple in reality. Not everyone has it easy.

What's so ridiculous about thinking people shouldn't be entitled to food? We're an obese nation. Or even housing? What, we should give free housing now? The New York City Housing authority is expensive as frack. Rent is pegged at 1/3 of your income. Just move outside the city and you won't be poor. It's simple. Yes, you're not a victim.

And Markust, that Julia thing is really fracking creepy. There's a reason it never really went anywhere. What a sad, lonely, and dependent life. Without Obama, she would've been thoroughly fracked. So happy Obama saved her life with all that fictional money.

Also thanks for mentioning Obama's Life of Julia. I hadn't seen that. It really shows the positive changes that Obama is pushing for to make America a better place.

I give you huge kudos CrakrJak for handling my dickish comment with dignity. I got confused because you only mentioned inner cities. You didn't state that you were talking about large metropolises or mention any of the cities by name.

markust: Actually I was referring to the large metropolises, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Philadelphia, DC, etc.. which are in blue states.

Btw, it has nothing to do with races, many races live within the inner cities, it's about attitude. Obama's own campaign website has a 'Life of Julia' section showing how Obama will help a single mother with government freebies throughout her lifetime. So even Obama's own campaign websites basically says, vote for me or you'll loose your government freebies.

" "Entitlement" is often just lazyness. I believe in small government and I don't think the government is obligated to provide a safety net if you fail in life."

I don't think very many people would disagree. There are areas of the system that needs to be fixed. The government should not be obligated to provide a safety net for every failure. This opens the system up to abuse. The biggest problem is the majority of Republicans in power, not all of them but the majority, do not really want to fix the problems. If they did they would be coming up with fixes. Instead the mantra is always scrap it and start over, which translates to scrap it.

This is gonna sound bad, but I agree with Mitt on so many things. "Entitlement" is often just lazyness. I believe in small government and I don't think the government is obligated to provide a safety net if you fail in life.

But the way Romney implements those ideas is frightening. It's as if he wants to set people up to be hungry/homeless/uneducated/sick.

Frighening.

"I honestly think that if you tried to play darts with madest he'd turn around 180 degrees and toss darts at the other wall."

And if you played with Mitt Romney he would throw them at the poor people in the room. Sorry, that was stupid. Just trying to stay on topic.

When George Romney, Mitt's Dad, came to the US from his birth country of Mexico during the Mexican revolution he received Government Welfare to help raise his family. Link

"But in reality, a good portion of them /do/ vote Republican. There are more people paying 0% income tax in red states than in blue states."

But as CJ pointed out yesterday the majority of those 0%rs in the red states are negroes in the inner cities. OK he didn't use the word negroes but we got what he meant with his inner cities diatribe.

@Lillian: There are more people paying 0% income tax in red states than in blue states.

We must be careful with these statements as they are purposefully misleading. Most of the research I've seen indicates that you are correct, however, that those people are mostly denizens of "blue" cities in "red" states.

In addition, I've noticed this recent study that indicates that many "red" states receive more federal assistance than "blue" states per unit population (which appears to be true). However, research also indicates that many "blue" states use considerably more TOTAL federal assistance (since they have higher populations).

It is all a matter of how we choose to present our statistics.

He most definitely screwed himself. The funny thing is that in holding that impromptu press conference to do "damage control" he made it worse. I have to admit though, the comment he made about how he'd have a better shot of winning if he had been of Mexican descent did make me laugh. I still think this little scandal (if you can call it that) has pissed off enough people and ensured that he won't be the next POTUS.

I keep clicking these links thinking that somebody will say or show something impartial or sane. Its funny, because in the video he states that only 10% are firmly in the middle, I guess everybody just unknowingly proves Mitt's point for him. Maybe he's not so stupid afterall. Hmmmmm.

"Nothing wrong with the chart. Just the heading is off. It should read something like, "Will Mitt get your vote.""

Maybe if you're Mitt Romney you might believe this, because you don't want to realize a good portion of those people you think are lazy bums actually vote for your party. But in reality, a good portion of them /do/ vote Republican. There are more people paying 0% income tax in red states than in blue states.

VOTE MCGOVERN!! After nuking France I'll add jobs and solve the oil price problem by annexing Canada for it's oil sands! It will be through arming a widely supported seal apartheid of seals with a long history of being clubbed by Canukistanians and a short invasion. It's already in the works....

Then we can get to Mexicos oil!

I'm McGovern and I support change for realz this time!!!

With his candid off the cuff ignorant statement, Mitt definitely lost a few independents and because of that more than likely the election. No one is spinning his words. They are more damning exactly as they were spoken,

"There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. And I mean the President starts off with 49, 49…he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. 47% of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn’t connect."
