It's only okay to say you're proud to be black, because the mixing of various African tribes during slavery makes it more difficult for the descendants today to trace their ancestry. So Asians can't really say they're proud to be Asian, because they know where their ancestors come from, as European-Americans know where theirs come from. I'm proud to be German-Italian. |

@botfly We're glad you're not a Brit too. Personally, I think it's a little stupid to be proud of something you have no control over. I have a blue birthmark on my wrist, I am gluten intolerant and I am well endowed. These are NOT things to be proud of. Be proud of something you or someone else has gone out of their way to make come about. |

Well - being white is awesome, because things are easier for us - but I didn't really have much to do with that. I guess I am glad that my ancestors married and procreated within their racial demographic? Good on for them.
No - what I am most proud of is my attached earlobes. So many idiots in the world have earlobes that hang down like lazy pieces fleshy fruit. Disgusting, really.
Also, I can curl my tongue. Those who can't are just freaks of nature and should be cleansed out of the gene pool. |

@collegebound: Yes, BUT people used to be all concerned about "different races" meaning Italian, French, Ukranian, German & etc... See? They used to be "mixed marriages if a Russian married a Norwegian! NOW they're all "white" but not long ago things were different.
Things are getting better, overall. |
