Monday, September 10, 2012 7:02:00 AM I goaded a patriotic Brit into giving me even odds on the Tyson-Bruno fight. I doubled everything I had to my name on the night. |

Monday, September 10, 2012 4:46:54 AM Overwhelming is a good description. Big, ugly, fast and hellbent on destroying his opponent. The only hope for a flyweight like me when facing such a monster would be to bring my feet into play. And run like f***. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 10:58:58 PM @jxs his punches are leathal I agree. Knock outs are very simple to understand most cases a hook or a jab followed by upper cut. I don't really know any of the boxer he is smashing to ground. Look at how he works the much taller, most of the. He ducks and sometimes he half ducks & springs up earlier then anticipated. He is hitting kidney punch just to lower the face a few inches and then he goes for the side of the skull near the eyebrows. They don't oat down like a leaf, the are blown out of their socks. There is a technique he just makes to look easy and so freakin fast! He did go locco later and started snacking I the middle of the fight so things were no at all oK when he lost a few. Don't think it was lack of technique though. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 9:23:38 PM @sutra46 Tyson was never really known for any technique other then simply overwhelming an opponent with his strength. Many boxers were caught off guard by how hard he could hit given Iron Mike's incredibly disproportionate agility and speed. In 1990 Tokyo, when faced against Buster Douglas, it illustrated the contrast of a much more technical boxer to Tyson's true skill. In a dragged out a match against someone who knew what they were doing, Tyson become very fatigued and made mistakes. Douglas would take jabs and cut him off from getting inside preventing Mike from letting loose one of his deadly uppercuts. In the end Tyson lost to someone with better technique and was never the same again. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 6:03:05 PM RobSwindol: who did he avoid? All these boxers were championship contenders. He was incredible, to make them look like chumps. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 5:43:25 PM @uscbadfish Either you don't know about Mike Tyson, and that he knocked the eff out of 32 year old Trevor Burbick to won the world heavy weight title as a 21 year old kid, and proceeded to destroy 29 year old Tony Tucker, 27 year old Tyrell Biggs, 30 year old Tony Tubbs, 32 year old Michael Spinks, 27 year old Frank Bruno, 30 year old Carl Williams, and 28 year old Donovan Ruddock, before he exited his prime....or you're just an idiot douche bag that doesn't know what he's talking about. There was nothing in the history of boxing more impressive than Mike Tyson in his prime. The closest you could compare him to was Joe Frazier, except Tyson hit harder, and was twice as fast. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 5:43:13 PM I actually had the opportunity to meet Mike Tyson once. He's a really nice guy and very friendly. That being said, there is no amount of money that would get me in the ring against him. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 5:42:17 PM Tyson was the Kimbo Slice of his time. He looked great fighting has-beens and B-list boxers, but once he reached that point in his career where he had to fight real boxers, it wasn't so glamorous. He even had to resort to ear-biting.

Sunday, September 09, 2012 5:38:27 PM "I think the point of the video was to show that no one was a match for Mike Tyson in his prime." If this was true, then he would have faught better boxers. In his "prime", he was far mor concerned with fighting someone he knew he could knock out in less than a minute than fighting someone who could be considered true competition. A lot of this is due to Don King, but that fact still remains that in his prime, he didn't fight other "prime" boxers.

Sunday, September 09, 2012 5:21:57 PM I'm not saying Tyson didn't have an awesome punch, but his knockout of a 38-year-old Holmes isn't that impressive. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 4:16:47 PM I don't think that I would call Larry Holmes an "out of shape, middle-aged white guy". I think the point of the video was to show that no one was a match for Mike Tyson in his prime. |

Sunday, September 09, 2012 3:19:18 PM He just destroyed those out of shape, middle-aged white guys. Only a few of those guys actually looked like they may have been a match for Tyson. |
