So someone innocently posts a question on youtube and some jerk comes by and leaves a nasty comment.. What else is new? Obviously the guy could have been a lot nicer about it, but this is the internet(and youtube) so it's gonna happen on a day to day basis whether people like it or not. |

I'm sure the dude asking the question expected a more helpful answer, like a good substitute for walnuts, and didn't expect Captain Statestheobvious to chime in with the answer he had. It's right up there with "doctor, it hurts when i do this"..."well then, don't do that" |

@lostinkorea, I think that faaaaq was pointing out that Bremir ended his post with "Pathetic". Which, basically put Bremir in the same position he was railing against. It may have also been the use of the word "petty", but, I think that word was descriptive and appropriate in this case, so, I'm sticking with "Pathetic" as the motivator for faaaaq's post. Let's see if he comes on to explain?  |

@Faaaaq: Bremir wasn't mocking or degrading anyone with his post. I think the point of it was that people don't have to be so incredibly nasty when posting comments.
The guy could have said, "I don't think the nuts are an integral part of the recipe, so just leave them out". Why do we have to resort to name calling for a simple comment.
Now, I know there are trolls out there that likes to stir the poo but I don't think this is one of those times. |

Have you ever heard of walnut flour? Neither have most people, so if a recipe written for the general public required walnut flour, the directions would probably instruct you to pulverize some walnut meats, rather than call for walnut flour on the ingredient list. Thus, the walnuts could very well have been an intregal part of the leavening process, and so it wasn't a stupid question at all.

Nice. I've been trying to come up with a lembas bread recipe that contains protein powder to eat after running, but I'm not the best experimental chef so I'm afraid to try. |

This, to me, shows less the lack of intelligence the user asking has (as daft as it is to ask, they might have assumed the nuts were a major part of the ingredients) and shows how petty the other user is, to have to resort to insults.
But that's the internet for you. Where people have lost the ability to be decent human beings, and take every opportunity to degrade and mock other people. Pathetic. |
