"oh, so you wish your adopted child had been aborted then? that makes sense..."

No, he's saying that adoption can really f*ck up a kid. He loves his daughter, but if she hadn't been thrown into the system like trash, she wouldn't have to deal with the issues she does now. He's glad he has his daughter, but he can see how abortion would prevent future problems like this.

Why give birth to children if you're just going to hand them over to the government where people REALLY don't care about them? Sure, there are foster parents out there that genuinely love kids and want to help them, but a lot of them are only there because they get paid (or "reimbursed" as the government calls it) to be there.

Do you know people who have grown up in foster care or to parents that quite obviously didn't want them? Some are okay, but a good bit of them have major issues. If it were me, I'd rather have been aborted than hop through the foster care system, w

who believes it is ok to kill innocent babies but no thardened [sic] criminals.

The point here is that we disagree on whether it is a baby or not, but mostly I disagree that it deserves the same rights as a born human from the moment it's conceived. I don't see why it can't have rights as a person after a certain point. Perhaps you have a logical argument as to why rights must be granted at conception.

Anyone who says that adoption is a better option is a f*cking moron. The foster care system in the US is already overflowing with hundreds of thousands of kids, many of these kids have severe emotional problems as a result of being put in foster care. My daughter is adopted and its taken us 4 years just to overcome her trust issues and we're still struggling with various other problems.
Putting a child up for adoption is sometimes a worse option than abortion, because the emotional trauma of not having a home/family screws the kid up for life.

"If you can't control yourself enough to take the necessary precautions then you should live with the consequences. adoption is always an option. "

Know what else is always an option? Just throw the kid somewhere in the woods where there's a lot of bears. Or better yet, we can go back to the old days where unwanted kids worked in coal mines. I mean, China is employing their unwanted kids, and see how awesome their economy is!
Anyway, point being adoption is a bullcrap option. You can't solve all your social problems by throwing kids away like unwanted trash.

What a moronic statement. As if education and persecution are on the same level. What a sad rebuttal.

Rytwing: if there only was a place where people (especialy the younger) were informed about the options that are there for them, but then again, why would people be schooled if they can be scorned

Women should be able to choose. Maybe they could choose masterbation, or abstinence. How bout birth control or some profalactics. Maybe some foresight might help the issue. Take your pick, but for the love, quit killing unborn babies cause you can't choose to say no. (rape and insest are, of course, excluded (there's no choice in those)).

DingDingDong, you aren't pro life because you wont force your opinion on anyone. Pro life/pro choice has nothing to do with your personal opinion on abortion. You can really hate it, never having an abortion yourself, think it's horrible, etc. As long as you want it to remain legal (even if you limit it to "legal before sentience") you're pro choice.

The reason I am pro-choice is because I have witnessed too many grown people be f*cked up in the head because they were the result of a one night stand where nobody intended nor wanted to have them but probably only kept them to save face. They grew up with their parents being in and out of their lives, being resented, and tossed around from person to person because no one knew where to put them. They grow up not being a blessing, but a burden, and it doesn't take them long to figure that out.

You say "Oh they should own up to the responsibility", and rightfully so, they should. But some parents keep their children for the wrong reasons and the child is the one who ends up suffering in the end. Would it not be better, in that case, to just abort the unborn child and save them a life of wondering why the hell nobody wants them?

Last night I read an (albeit dated) article about a young teenager in a country where abortion is illegal - not just a heavily debated topic but out and out illegal. Doctors cannot knowingly end a pregnancy. This girl was diagnosed with cancer at about 18 weeks into the pregnancy, but the doctors couldn't treat the cancer without aborting the baby, which they couldn't do because... hello? illegal.
The girl died of her cancer before reaching term.

Incorrect cartoon is incorrect. I know for a fact there are many groups willing to help a woman struggling with her pregnancy and offer adoption options with pre-natal care and monetary help.

There are a lot of child-less couples, wanting a baby, more than willing to help support a mother in order to adopt her child.

I'm also with Dixxy, on the pro-prevention, Wrap it up guys and get on the pill girls.

7.5 billion people on this mudball.

7,500,000,000 people.

If the religious weren't so intent on having as many <insert denomination here> babies, on the notion that that will win the religious war...we wouldn't have the levels of starvation we have today.

If every stupid hick from afghanistan to compton to baton rouge was not having 6 children and not taking care of 1...we wouldn't have the population issues we have today.

AS IT STANDS, we have too many damned people on this planet for it to sustain.

If you take away birth control options, all that means is that nature and our society will be forced to look for alternative population control methods.

I think it will invariably lead to more war, more violent crimes, and the levels of suffering will rise everywhere.

We do NOT need 7.5 Billion people on this planet. One of the few things I think China got right in principle was the limit on the number of children a

Pro-choices always make the pro-lifers as uncaring. Their logic is if you save a life you are responsable to provide for that person for life. Huh?

Uncaring is the mother who's killing the baby. Uncaring is the parent who keeps a child they can't care for rather than give it up for adoption, at least they care more for themself than the wellbeing of the kid.

@ New Guy:

Yep, the same could be said for assisted suicide, recreational drug taking, prostitution etc.

An unbiased education it what the world needs. That's the only way we can achieve true freedom without the state trying to mother (nanny) people. Abosultely ANY ACTION between 1+ consenting adults should be allowed if it doesn't harm anyone under 18.

People may agree with me but argue that abortion is harming 'the child'. Well, if that's your belief then don't ever have an abortion. But don't restrict that freedom from others.

I would never force a vegetarian to eat meat, force a Muslim to read the bible or force a blond woman to dye her hair brown. Why? Because I respect choice.

I personally hate the idea of abortion and would never want to have to result to it. But I am completely respectful of those that feel they need to.

Pro-life = Pro-restriction

Perhaps becuase sex is nothing special? it's the act of reproduction which happens to release a bunch or hormones which make you feel good. an act which your body chemistry drives you to oh f.uck i think i see the problem here. Well in that case may i suggest that we educate youngsters on how to best deal with this bodily urge to minimize the risk? oh someone who believes differently tells me that that is immoral, that life is a gift from god etc. just to clarify i think life is amazing, in all it's forms wether it's a tree having a go on the side of the cliff in 3 inches of dirt or a beetle with golden wings which are build up off 70! layers.
But then i don't see to many christians concerned about all of god's creation. all i see is christians tell other people they shouldn't give in to their urges, and if they do they should deal with the results. and damn the concequenses for the kid or parents.

when does it become anybody else's business what people do with there body's? What gives anyone, properly are against gun control the right to decide how or if somebody get an aborting? It pisses me of that people think they can come and tell me or anybody that i should put a life into this world and then turns around a tells me that if i can't afford it then it is my problem or it needs to put up for adoption, especially when you look at the state of the world. I Love my child and i give him the best i have and can afford but if I did not have the time or the money to be a parent or if the fact was forced upon me then it's my god damned chose to choose my action!
So balls to you if you think you should make the decision for me...

It's funny to me that a group or people how are so afraid of being controlled by there government are so eager to control other people!

@Lauriloo: Yes, I am aware of that. I guess I should have worded myself a bit better. My main point is that we need to teach our young people that you have to be held accountable for your actions. If you are not responsible enough to take the chance that your actions in the heat of a moment could lead to you raising a child (or at least birthing one), then maybe you're not ready for sex. I think it's sad how sex is so casual and almost a throwaway action nowadays.

It used to be taught that when two people love each other very much, and they've discussed the possible outcomes of their actions, they may or may not decide to have sex. Now it seems more like we're teaching "Meh... sex is just something you do by the third date." No friggin wonder abortion is being used as birth control.

Corporations are people, my friend.
Corporations don't have babies therefore babies are not people.

hmmm something could be wrong in that logic.
