The panoramic from the Republican Convention is all you need to see why I have confidence that Obama will win. Try to find the African Americans. This was a little easier when the picture first came out. People had created snapshots with titles like Black Person 8. It was sad and funny at the same time. They have deleted all the snapshots. |

@CJ, The number 1 search on Google after Obama's speech was "voter registration". Keep telling yourself Romney has a chance. Oh BTW he wants you to get off your ass and get to work because he sick of paying taxes to benefit people like you. Then he wants your medicare and he'll eventually take your SS. So never mind that he hides his money from Uncle Sam. You're the problem. That's the logic you support in a nutshell.
And your claims of business experience making for a good president doesn't hold up to historical fact. Afterall George Bush was a Harvard business graduate and a business man (same as Romney) and historians rate his presidency.... well you know.. |

This isn't a recovery it's a 'Wreckovery' and it's because Obama has no prior business or leadership experience.
At least Romney and Ryan actually have plans, Obama is wandering around clueless. |

Regardless of the visual representation (it is hard to take someone's views seriously when they cannot be given in an unbiased, analytical and thoughful manner) this was given in, the kid does raise some valid points.
I don't understand how something that really is a non-affecting issue for at least 75% of Americans has become so incredibly powerful in this election. Don't we have larger things to worry about?
As a gay man, I couldn't give a good tiddly squat about gay marriage - (a) having that piece of paper does not legitimize or affect my personal relationship(s) at all, (b) since my partner(s) and I believe in keeping separate assets and finances, who cares about that, and (c) I don't want the headache of possibly facing a divorce.
Let's get the real problems solved and then worry about the icing on the cake. |

Well - everyone is trying to 'define' marriage in these debates. One group wants the definition changed, one group doesn't. He rants about using logic, yet his tirade is riddled with logical fallacies.
The definition of marriage matters. It is why when people claim that someone is using the slippery slope fallacy argument that it reinforces this point.
Person A: Next you will have someone marrying their dog!
Person B: That is a logical fallacy - slippery slope!
Person B reinforces that there will be a line that won't be crossed - they just want the line moved.
(Person A is also an idiot, but society will always have lines - they are important.) |

I'm from England and when I went to America for two weeks I must admit I found these government propaganda ads hilarious. Over here if we had politicians blatantly feeding people propaganda on adverts people would see them as dictators.. |

The government shouldn't be involved in ANY marriage.
Marriage should be a personal decision between adults and can be legally bound by contracts without a government's definition of "marriage."
This way anyone can marry whoever they want. I really don't care who gets married. Or even how many people they marry. Gay? Polygamy? Marry your toaster? Whatever. It's not "my" definition of marriage, but it doesn't affect me in the slightest. |

Yesterdays Gallup Poll are in for Election 2012 Trial Heat: Obama vs. Romney. Clinton's speech pushed Obama up 2 points. Obama's speech pushed him up another to a 4% lead. The Republican Convention did not change the polls at all. There was zero bounce. What were you saying in another thread about where's that bounce AJ? I'd say it is here. And Obama's Job Approval shot up to 52% and his disapproval sank to 42%. That is what I call a very successful convention. |
