The guy at 4:10 is named Dean Potter. He came up with the idea of free soloing the biggest climbs in the world with a parachute. Super sick. Alex Honnold does the same thing though, just without the chute. |

The free-climber was wearing a harness that included a backpack.
There are people who free-climb specifically in order to BASE jump off the thing they've climbed.
The harness and backpack he's wearing looks like the kit those people wear.
So I think he's probably doing that, jumped deliberately and landed safely. |
