There is nothing wrong with civic participation, and Facebook is a good medium for the dissemination of information. It's an important feature of democracy with a healthy civil society, actually.
You don't have to read it. You're not a victim if you do. |

It's not like you are reading a book to find out one of your friends has some crazy thoughts/ideas you didn't really want to know about. It's well known you shouldn't talk about politics and religion (or what computer OS you prefer) at parties. That should be true with FB as well. |

Hey! I have a great idea too, lets make it so that people who don't give a damn about politics can't vote either!
That way they don't have to be bothered with things that impact their lives! =D

I have a facebook friend who quitting fb until the day after election day so he won't have deal with anybody's sh*t. I personally don't think it's a bad idea either at this point. |
