Palfas-"No wonder your side doesn't support education."

I don't know of any conservative that 'doesn't support education'. Many just believe the crap that's being taught in Public Schools today does not qualify as education.

Examples:
In many history textbooks, due to Political Correctness, the Founding Fathers are not mentioned, or if they are, they are not called the 'founding fathers'.
Any mention of Mt. Rushmore is eliminated, as not to offend Native Americans.
Hot dogs and Cakes can not be pictured in textbooks, as they are 'unhealthy'.
One textbook claims 'guns are a national plague'.

Some of the goals of the student handbooks?
-"Working for peace in the global village"
-"Displaying the courage to be imperfect"
-"Striving to change long standing habits and replace them with open, searching minds"
-"Seeking social justice"

Palfas-"It's not vacation because he was at this ranch?!? Puhlease "

Another person with a reading comprehension problem. No President is ever truly 'on vacation'. They are in charge at all times. The difference is while Obama took vacations that cost millions of dollars, Bush's, by comparison, cost the secret service like twelve bucks.

Palfas-"I'm guessing you didn't read the text with it, or can't."

Actually, we did. But it doesn't negate the fact that he just had to post a picture of himself 'reflecting'. Why not a pic of Neil? Or not even one of where Neil met Obama? One exists: Obama, Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin & Michael Collins (that's the Apollo 11 crew, for liberals)

Palfas-"It's a star so it's muslim?!?"

Not a position I've mentioned, nor agree with. Imagine, a star/venus in the sky at dawn. Anyone suggesting any meaning in it is an idiot. There's idiots on all sides.

Do you right wingers realize that Neil Armstrong's family specifically requested that he be remembered by everyone when they look up at the moon?

Wowie wow wow. You right wingers sure do grasp at the smallest of straws.

It's not vacation because he was at this ranch?!? Puhlease

It's all about Obama because he posted a picture of him self?!? I'm guessing you didn't read the text with it, or can't.

It's a star so it's muslim?!? Wow, I didn't know muslims had a monopoly on the imagery of stars.

It really only takes about a 6th grade level of comprehension, critical thinking, and dash of intellectual honesty to see all of the holes in your positions and arguments. No wonder your side doesn't support education.

Adcro-"He's showing himself looking to the moon... his own tribute is showing that he is thinking of Armstrong and his contribution to history."

Except the picture was taken four months before Armstrong died, so I highly doubt that, in that picture, Obama was thinking 'That Armstrong honkey did some serious poo.'.

Admit it, it's just a piss-poor way of inserting himself into anything and everything. Just like when he says “I Shot Bin Laden!”

Just like including Obama-relevent foot-notes into the bios of pretty much every popular President on the White House Web Site.

Excerpt from Teddy Roosevelt's bio: 'While campaigning in Milwaukee, he was shot in the chest by a fanatic.* (*noted: President Obama also has to deal with fanatics, and he does so fabulously, better than any President in the history of the world.).

He's showing himself looking to the moon... his own tribute is showing that he is thinking of Armstrong and his contribution to history.

Are people that dim that they think he's just showing a picture of himself?

FoolsPrussia: I am no troll. This president is the troll. He's been punking us from the very beginning, shoving his true beliefs in our faces then calling those that criticize him for it racists.

They could've easily cropped the 'star', yes idiots I knew it was Venus, out of the picture and just left him looking up at the moon. But not this narcissist, he has to shove it in our faces once again.

By the way, Venus has been known as 'The morning and evening star' for thousands of years even though it's a planet.

IF this wasn't part of a LONG string of self-centred "gifts" and gaffs given by Obama it wouldn't BE an issue.
Insulting the Queen
Insulting the British
Insulting the Polish
Insulting Canada, Austria, France the list goes on!

Time to send this clown to the unemployment line.

@HiEv: Add in the 100s of rounds of golf and the MANY 100s of "fundraisers" Obama has held: all on the taxpayer's dime...

Obama flys to California on AirForce One, attends 3 fundraisers ($10,000 minimum!) returns to Washinton.

Just another busy day for BHO!

Haven't you realized, HiEv, that for every square-foot of brush cleared in Texas a soldier comes home safely and all missions are that much more completed?

HiEv-"You do realize that George W. Bush still holds the records for most vacation days of any US president EVER?!?"

You DO realize that the word 'vacation' did not appear in my statement? Might want to check on that reading comprehension. (strawman much?)

But, while you're arguing 'vacations'. Bush's 'vacations' were at HIS RANCH...with his STAFF or at CAMP DAVID...with his STAFF.

Where are Obamas'?
-Ski trip to Aspen.
-Hawaii x3 (his home state, so I'll give him that)
-Martha’s Vineyard x3
-South Africa and Botswana
-Ski trip to Vail
-Panama City Beach, Fla
-Chicago x2
-Spain
-Mount Desert Island, Maine
-NYC
-Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon

MeGrendel: "Yup, busy golfing, campaigning, fundraising, giving scripted 'interviews' with such powerhouses as Glamour Magazine and anwering such 'in depth' questions as 'what's your favorite color?'. It's a good thing he doesn't have another, more important job to do."

You do realize that George W. Bush still holds the records for most vacation days of any US president EVER?!? That includes FDR, who was in office for 12 years, and had 958 days, compared to Bush's 1,020. Bush was president during 9/11 and two wars, and yet somehow managed to set that record.

Did you ever complain about his ridiculous number of vacation days (~35% of his presidency) despite the number of important things going on? No. Of course not. He's a Republican so he's allowed. (eyeroll)

FYI: During 2009-2011 Obama had 78 days vacation.

"Neil's spirit of discovery lives on in all the men and women who have devoted their lives to exploring the unknown - including those who are ensuring that we reach higher and go further in space. That legacy will endure - sparked by a man who taught us the enormous power of one small step." President Obama on the passing of Neil Armstrong

He's smug because he won an election by manipulating the media and the facts. Anyone would be that smug if their plans played out and they became a nation's leader. It's not a rep vs dem thing it's just who can be the most manipulative.

Gerry1of1-"It's a pic of him looking at the moon reflecting on Armstrong's accomplishments."

No, it's a stock photo that they've been looking for a chance to use. The actual photo was taken on April 24, 2012, so I'm pretty sure he was not reflecting on Neil Armstong.

Less narcissistic people would pay tribute to Neil Armstrong by posting a picture of, oh i don't know, Neil Armstrong maybe.

Gerry1of1-"hopefully he's too busy."

Yup, busy golfing, campaigning, fundraising, giving scripted 'interviews' with such powerhouses as Glamour Magazine and anwering such 'in depth' questions as 'what's your favorite color?'.

It's a good thing he doesn't have another, more important job to do.

That really does it. Now I know CrakrJak is a troll account. There's no way someone could actually believe that nonsense. It's like something Colbert would say.

That's right CrakrJak, and if you look up at the crescent moon (and that's Venus btw, not a star) then surely you're a muslim. Your comments are assinine - and so are the comments of the idiots on the linked page. Ya know what I did when I heard Mr. Armstrong passed away? I went outside...and I drating looked up at the moon and thought about his accomplishments.
This is an 'old' picture, and Obama's staff likely used it because it felt appropriate for the post.
