Wednesday, August 29, 2012 9:10:13 AM @patchgrabber: It's possible and I've noticed signs of it *starting* to happen. As much as people hate to admit it, Ron Paul significantly raised awareness regarding Libertarian ideology - especially among younger groups. That being said, I think the biggest obstacle to Libertarians is... Libertarians. There are too many 'purists' that align more closely with Anarchism than Libertarianism. Limited government does not mean zero government - it simply means handling legislation at the lowest possible level. |

Wednesday, August 29, 2012 7:12:00 AM @HA: It's not impossible. One of our major political parties (we have 4, but one is basically exclusively for people from Quebec) was always ranked 3rd or last place for decades until this last federal election, and now they're the main opposition. What you'd need is more organization and support of all your libertarian brethren. |

Tuesday, August 28, 2012 2:00:18 PM Just to be the devil's advocate nowhere in the article does it say young boys. only minors and last time I checked, girls can be minors too. So, not necessarily gay, just a pedo. (which seems to be a lesser crime to the anti-gay crowd for some reason.) |

Tuesday, August 28, 2012 1:52:22 PM @patchgrabber: When the rubber hits the road libertarians usually side with economics over social freedoms. Very true; wish there was a legitimate (as in, had a chance in hell to win) third party for libertarians. |

Monday, August 27, 2012 10:22:56 PM @An-egg, you might actually want to read the full article when you post a link: "April Fools. The news article is real but it actually refers to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport, not the American Atheists (read the actual news article below )." |

Monday, August 27, 2012 9:52:48 PM Right, so since this is such an anti christian country, we only put out news stories about the Christians molesting children. That's the ticket. So it must be true. John Stewart said it best when he said that all super vocal anti gay evangelicals are closet cases. |

Monday, August 27, 2012 8:54:07 PM I don't want to be put in a dumb position of defending religious people, so I won't. But you guys really think that democrats and atheists don't molest children? It's confined to conservative, religious Americans? If that's what you think, I don't know what to say to you. You are too far gone in the land of hackery to salvage. |

Has anyone ever heard of an atheist pedophile? I'm not trolling the christians. Really? I've not heard of one, they all seem to be religious heterosexual males. |

Monday, August 27, 2012 7:04:16 PM BostonKaiser, I dig where you're coming from, but you're wrong. If somebody knows uncle so-and-so's abusing kids, but that if he goes to jail he'll be raped or worse, they won't speak up. |
