that egg looked very watery. Chinease egg no doubt. watery. and pale. Our eggs are so yellow they are practically orange.

I have an egg separator. Just need to place it on a small bowl and crack the egg over it.

I've done the eggshell trick, but the yolk would sometimes burst cause of the sharp edge.

For one egg, it's not quicker. For a few, crack them all in one bowl and pick out the yolks one by one.

are you kidding me? how is this easier than just doing it by catching the yolk in the egg shell. seperating an egg takes all of about 1.2 seconds. this does not

Fake egg. No I'm not being "that guy" they exist, the whites are very runny, and the yolk is much more easily separated from the white. Additionally the shell of a fake egg has no membrane. Sadly they didn't show the inside of the egg shell though.

crack the egg, gently pour the egg white off into a bowl while keeping the yolk in the shell. less steps, less dishes. you are welcome.

Yep. My eggs are nice and clear.

I take that back. There's a tinge of yellow, but it isn't as bad as this.

Do they pasteurize eggs?

!!! WHAT It's so simple but such a clever idea! I use the same technique on any thing squeeze bottle related when I've accidentally grabbed too much. WHAT mind blown.

lauriloo - I didn't go to home ec and that's what I do, assuming I can't be bothered just to let the yolk sit in my hand whilst the rest of it runs through my fingers. I found it's a little easier, although a little messier.

Egg whites are always somewhat yellow before you cook them. They're only white when you cook them.

Open a pack of egg beaters sometime. Hell, open up any egg sometime.

Really? That was the standard way of separating yolks from whites when I went to home ec. Easy.

Very clever! I see this being really useful if you have to separate a lot of eggs for some reason... just crack a couple dozen in a bowl and start sucking out the yolks. For only one or two though, just use the shell halves.

impressive on camera but not practical....the simple way without having to use extra stuff is just break it in half, keep the yolk in one half, and shift it to the other half letting the white fall out into the bowl. Takes 2 seconds, done. I think that's what Quackor is referring to as well.

Or you can just put it in your hand and let the whites run through your fingers like normal people....and you don't have to clean plates when you're finished.
