Parents are tight on money - stranger gives them 350 bucks... show me that they actually got their kid a bike with that money. (and a bike lock too, one can only hope) |

Have to agree that there are a lot of good people out there. Especially agree with your point regarding the news! There's a lot of trash out there, too, and it seems that their stories get people to tune in. That's probably why so many "lose" faith in humanity. Isn't it nice when someone openly displays appreciation for a kind act? I think it helps us to get our heads out of our a$$es and see that there's more out there than the depressing stories hawked by the news companies. Don't lose faith, man! |

You know, the number of times over the past two years I've seen people constantly go on and on that something has "restored their faith in humanity", has actually made me lose my own faith in humanity.
Because there are just as many great, kind people in the world willing to help, and who do help, that you just don't hear about. And the first sign of something horrible in the news (which, lets be fair, is what the ******* news is actually for) and you suddenly lose faith in humanity, spouting crap like "I don't want to live on this planet!".
Yank your head from your arse for five seconds, and you'll find plenty of great people in the world. You're just too stuck up to realise that, because you want to have something to **** about and claim you have no faith in humanity. **** sake. |

I'm pretty sure you can get a crappy but functional used bike for $50 or less. The kid could learn a lesson in humility and learn that he doesn't need a fancy new bike to be happy. |
